Indiana Fever rookie Caitlin Clark will reportedly not make the final 12-player USA women's basketball team for the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, according to USA Today's Christine Brennan and The Athletic.

Here is what the expected roster will look like, which will be led by Cheryl Reeve, Minnesota Lynx head coach and president of basketball operations.

Kahleah Copper Chelsea Gray A'ja Wilson Breanna Stewart Diana Taurasi Brittney Griner Alyssa Thomas Napheesa Collier Jewell Loyd Kelsey Plum Jackie Young Sabrina Ionescu

The final Olympic roster isn't only Reeves' call. A committee that includes three women's college basketball coaches — Dawn Staley, Seimone Augustus, Delisha Milton-Jones — as well as Jennifer Rizzotti, president of the Connecticut Sun and head coach of the U.S. women's 3-on-3 Olympic team, and WNBA head of league operations Bethany Donaphin made the decision.

I hope they lose every game. They hate the U.S. while supposedly playing for us.

So much for her ‘white privilege’.

The United States women’s basketball team stands during the national anthem after defeating Spain, 101-72, to win the gold medal at the 2016 Summer Games. (Wally Skalij / Los Angeles Times)

To salute the flag, stand at attention and place your right hand over your heart.

Now if they're standing for the flag, they will refuse to place their right hands over their hearts.

WNBA Players’ Rescue Mission Foiled As Key To Griner’s Cell Hanging Ten Feet Above Ground
SPORTS
Aug 6, 2022 · BabylonBee.com
MOSCOW — A daring attempt by a group of WNBA players to rescue Brittney Griner was foiled when the keys to her prison cell were found to be hanging from a hook ten feet off the ground.
“Is this thing regulation?” said a frustrated Dearica Hamby as she jumped over and over in vain. “Ugh, it’s so high! I knew we should have brought the mascot with his trampoline!”
The players hatched the plan for a raid after learning of Griner’s nine-year prison sentence. “It’s absolutely asinine that Brittney should serve jail time for drug possession. I mean sure, we do the exact same thing here in America, but that’s no excuse,” said coach Becky Hammon. “If Russia won’t do the right thing and use Brittney to secure the release of a notorious arms dealer, then we’re going in to get her!”
The WNBA players found gaining access to the jail far easier than anticipated. “Frankly, no one seemed to notice us whatsoever,” said Ms. Hamby. “It was eerily like playing in a WNBA game. Everything with our plan seemed on track until we ran into that ten-foot-tall key hook. Those darn Ruskies were ready for us.”
At publishing time, the players were planning another attempt with three WNBA players stacked on top of one another in a trench coat.

In this case, the team was set a while ago—just as the US Men’s team was set.

These USA teams usually start forming two years ahead of the Olympics to take in the World Championships and the preliminary rounds.

There are things in the world to get worked up about…this not one of them.

Let's say she is Tiger Woods. Do you think they would have left her off the roster?

Heck no!

P.S. I have a lot of respect for Tiger Woods as a golfer.

Caitlin Clark is a very good professional player; but to be fair, she isn’t one of the top 12-15 players in the league, yet.
I doubt she was surprised she was left off; even if some players told the coaches they didn’t want her on the team

This move is all about letting jealous, racist players get their share of endorsements.

Can’t have CC getting more.

Current Tiger Woods? Damn right he should left off, he can barely finish 4 rounds anymore. Rookie season Tiger Woods? Well he’s the youngest player to win the Masters, and the youngest player to hit number 1 in the rankings, so he’s leagues above CC.

I'm not talking about the skill level although that is the big part of it.

What I'm pointing out is the celebrity factor.

Clark shouldn’t be on the team based on her WNBA stats. Yeah, she was good in college, but now only shoots a little over 30% and that’s after a very high number of attempts.

That’s the ONLY part. Celebrity factor doesn’t win medals. To win medals you need to build a team of skilled players that can play together. CC’s not there yet. You already admitted that. Leaving her off the squad is perfectly reasonable. Complaining about it is completely silly.

She shouldn’t want to be on team. She won’t play much anyway.

She should have a 3 on 3 games with the top women rookies at the same times that usa plays. 10 times more would watch.

No one is going to watch now. But they will if CC was playing. Bad move.

If she did not try out two years ago when this stuff started, yeah I would expect her to be left off.

I mean this woman is good, and good for the game. But she is not the Tiger Woods of women’s basketball. This is much ado about nothing.

Not quite. Think of this as a battle in our nation's culture wars.
