A 7T static magnetic field is very strong!
If you were to pulse that field with sharp rise/fall times you would generate significant voltages in the subjects brain.
Put a constant DC current across the brain and combine that with high T magnetic pulsed stimulation and strange things just might happen...
(lower the threshold for magnetic cranial stimulation)
I was offered the red pill to regain consciousness and said “No Than You” to the Biden Administration but instead took the blue pill and went back into The Matrix where I’m dictator of my own world.
The nature of consciousness remains mysterious in that it has such spooky effects at the quantum level that contradict classical physics. Moreover, it is at least plausible that consciousness is not created by the brain, but the brain instead connects consciousness to the body, with consciousness itself residing in other dimensions of existence.
I think scholastic philosophers would be able to explain this without reverting to quantum physics or the multiverse.
Is a cow conscious that it’s a cow?

Perhaps some day, researchers will figure out how a species, no matter how small or big or complicated, knows that other entities in its environment are of the same species, therefore, it’s not going to attack and/or destroy its own kind. A virus ‘understands’ when it’s in the presence of another of its kind, and won’t try to destroy that other entity.
Humans recognize their own kind, and very often, go about destroying others like them. We meed to find a way to turn off that self-destroying impulse in ourselves. The devil in us needs to be eradicated.
Scholastic philosophers today would engage with modern science, and a number of Thomistic principles have ready application to quantum mechanics.

The natural sciences are derived from Aristotle via Thomas; the human soul, however, is both a part of and beyond the natural universe.
The philosophical question is not altered. We already knew that in order to have experience we need a working brain/body. Doesn’t tell us what we, the things that can have experience at all, are.
Plausibly, the soul and consciousness reside in extra dimensions and in dark matter and dark energy. It may well be that from our Creator's perspective, all of it, including our souls, is a working out of the natural universe as He made it.

The other dimension is the spirit in man. Jesus said the body without the spirit is dead.
