My phone started overheating yesterday really bad. I knew already I wanted to replace it with one that has a camera with high resolution because I need to take some photos and enlarge them.
I don't have time to research all this because I am packing to move to another state, so I am hoping you all can help because I don't have the brainpower or time I need as I am starting from scratch.
I want to get a phone that is reconditioned and hope to keep it between $200 and $250. I need to be able to enlarge from photo size to around 12" × 18" with very nice quality.
Thanks so much!
A used Samsung Galaxy S21 that you can buy on Ebay should meet your needs at your price point.
Moving to Florida like everyone else perhaps?
You should suggest a preferred resolution, and also the types of photos you will be taking. Some phones do better on closeups, some are better in low-light, some offer wide angle, etc.
I have always bought Motorola unlocked phones from Amazon and have had very good luck. They come with plain vanilla Android, which is a big plus. I can’t think of any feature a higher end phone has. I get unlocked so I can use it with Tracfone. You should be able to get a good Motorola phone for under $150.
Look at Motorola... You can get a brand new one for that much
Overheating?
THROW THAT THING AWAY BEFORE IT CAUSES A FIRE!....................
If you want images that scale up without distortion, get an I-Phone.
They have a better format.
A co-worker who works with images described the format of Microsoft as “being put in a box”.
I’m not in to the whole camera thing on cell phones. Use it for the basics and don’t consider high end quality. But I have mid-range Motorola Stylus, and I love the device overall. People always comment on the quality of the photos. (FWIW)

How is their format better? Better than what?
Don’t go CHEAP… get a new top of the line iPhone!
It will last you for years!

If your old phone was OK, replace with the same or post your phone model.
I have a Samsung S7. Camera is pretty good. About $200
Deprecated OS but the Lumia 1020 has a 41Mp camera. That should get you to viable print sizes.
I’m an iPhone user, but I wholeheartedly agree, get a new Motorola, just make sure it meets your desired spec.
CONS
Only a 10W charger in the box
Mediocre cameras
Limited OS upgrades
Sounds like you need a digital camera, preferably one with Bluetooth or WiFi.
