Authorities say a worker died after an industrial accident on Friday at an Oklahoma City recycling plant.
Oklahoma City Fire Department officials told KOCO 5 that a worker fell into a machine at the recycling plant near Reno and Ann Arbor avenues. Crews got the worker out of the machine, and he was pronounced dead.

Maybe he passed out and fell into a crusher/shredder, or was wearing loose clothes that got caught and pulled in.
OSHA will be paying this facility a visit in the near future. Expect evaluation of shift management and retraining of the newest hires.
After several hours of goofing off, running the equipment so hard that it plugs up. Then climbing up on top to dislodge the plug without that awkward safety harness. And hopping up and down on the plug until it dislodges. And then falling into the shredder (or baler), too. Everybody in that line of work sees an OSHA video about it.
How sad. What a horrific way to go.
I worked in maintenance at a paper mill for a couple of summers after high school. One fellow got chewed up in the log chipper. (Fortunately the bleach got rid of the red color.)
Now he’s a tire
Had a high school buddy who this happened to....got pulled in by clothing getting caught.
Crush a LOT of bones ... he lost a leg, but, he survived, by the grace of God.
So recycling kills.... that’s why I don’t.
Been involved in cleaning up some 3rd Shift Fork Lift rodeo’s - always the young guys who are bored. Miracle more 3rd shift warehouse workers aren’t killed by Fork Lifts.
Ha ha, when I was a teen I worked the summers in a warehouse. I was 16 or 17, drove a forklift (never had an accident, and was known to have a magic touch with “tricky” loads), and we really DID in fact have races with other companies and their forklifts (governors removed!!) down a public street!
And we survived! Heck, today, the officers of all the companies involved would be in jail.
