RIP, but how does one fall into a recycling machine?

OSHA will be paying this facility a visit in the near future. Expect evaluation of shift management and retraining of the newest hires.

After several hours of goofing off, running the equipment so hard that it plugs up. Then climbing up on top to dislodge the plug without that awkward safety harness. And hopping up and down on the plug until it dislodges. And then falling into the shredder (or baler), too. Everybody in that line of work sees an OSHA video about it.

I worked in maintenance at a paper mill for a couple of summers after high school. One fellow got chewed up in the log chipper. (Fortunately the bleach got rid of the red color.)
