Former heavyweight boxing champion Mike Tyson suffered a medical emergency during a flight from Miami to Los Angeles on Sunday, according to reports.
Just thirty minutes before landing, Tyson experienced nausea and dizziness, the Los Angeles Times reported.
The 57-year-old boxer’s symptoms were due to an ulcer flare-up.
Tryson received prompt assistance from the medical staff on board the flight.
He is now reported to be stable and “doing great,” Los Angeles Times reported.
“He became nauseous and dizzy due to an ulcer flare-up 30 minutes before landing,” his representatives told The New York Post.
“He is appreciative to the medical staff that were there to help him.”
Sources claim the cabin crew “issued an announcement asking for a doctor 30 minutes before landing and the message even came on everyone’s screens.’
“They asked us to stay on the plane and landed so paramedics could enter. [The stewardess] said something like, “He’s a really important passenger so we wanna make sure he’s OK.” I knew it was him, but I just mouthed the words “Mike Tyson” and she nodded her head yes.”
“He was in first class, but we were an exit row,” an eyewitness added.
The Daily Caller reported: Tyson is in the midst of preparing for a comeback to the ring. He is scheduled to fight 27-year-old YouTube influencer Jake Paul on July 20 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, Los Angeles Times stated.
This event marks a return for Tyson, who retired from professional boxing in 2005 and last reigned as a world champion between 1987 and 1990.
Tyson, who retired in 2005, recently fought in an exhibition in November 2020 against Roy Jones in California, which wasn’t declared a pro-fight.
“I was doing this years ago, so this is nothing new to me,” said Tyson, who won 50 fights with 44 knockouts before retiring.
“This is new to this young boy over here.”
Mr. Tyson reportedly spends most of his waking hours these days smoking cannabis. His inability to do that on a commercial flight may have had something to do with his distress.
He’s old Jim.
The loser of the bout will be laid near the cannon at Ft. Marcy Park, as a commemoration for the 31st anniversary of the suicide of Jeffrey Epstein... err, I mean Vince Foster. Both clearly suicides.
I was guessing he probably took an edible before the flight and then freaked out.
Ah, I bet you’re right.
Did he eat any of the airplane food?....
IIRC, he’s vegan.........................
Paul vs. Tyson will now take place on Friday, November 15.
Tyson is a Muslim.
Fridays are his ‘holy(field) day’................
