The post is to present to the Free Republic assemblage of great technical thinkers a concept that seems to be an improbable and irrational prospect but is in fact a real conundrum. A generator has been created that produces the electric wattage to drive an electric motor that causes the rotor of the generator to spin and produce the electric current. Not only does the generator produce the power to run the motor, but it produces a considerable excess for other electric devices. The generator produces free energy, forever.

As a scientist, the producer chose an elegantly simple collection of new magnets assembled with a magnetically modified electric motor and another electric motor for what amounts to an experiment. His video is an invitation to those so inclined to make the effort to duplicate his hypothesis and results. The video headline says he used an auto alternator but that seems to be incorrect.
The experiment uses the rotor from an old Headon Diaphragm pump motor to which he glues strong neodymium permanent magnets in reversed polarity around the circumference. The brushed rotor is simply fastened to a simple wooden board with a glue gun. At the side of the rotor, a strong toroidal magnet is glued to the board. An electric motor is positioned such that a belt drive connects the motor to the generator.
In a test, the rotor is turned with an electric drill and seemingly unbelievable, the meter indicates 220 volts. The generator is connected to a multiple strip outlet into which the motor is plugged. A drill, a grinder and some light bulbs are also plugged in. The rotor is flipped generating a current thar runs the motor
I don’t know much about physics, but it seems that gravity can be used to “exchange” energy, as well as re-direct it.

It’s a proven fact that if you are quick enough, you can actually store electricity in an extension cord if you quickly unplug the cord from the receptacle and back into itself.

Yes sir, I did. It was very interesting. And I can think of half a dozen ways to fake that. For example, consider the sanding tool that was plugged in. That tool could have rigged with an internal battery such that the tool runs both itself and the original device.
I have a background and interest in physics. I was already aware of such frauds, where the “tool” is actually running the device.
Don’t get me wrong. Science advances when honest folks try the impossible. Heck, Einstein’s Theory of Relativity was considered nonsense until it was verified by others.
And that’s the key. Verified by others. I might well stand corrected later. But as of now I’m putting that YouTube device into one of the two categories I mentioned in my post #34.

Instead of insulting you, I’ll give you the science behind it.
Yes, it will work, but only as long as the copper brushings and the magnetism lasts. The magnets in the dynamo will start de-gaussing after a time; faster under heavy loads. In that machine, the kinetic energy being produced comes from the potential energy in the magnets themselves.
There are many types of perpetual motion machines, but they all require something in common - fuel. Hydroelectric power plants are as close as you’re going to get, with the perpetual fuel being gravity itself (so long as the river doesn’t run dry).
But if you want free energy, look into the electrolysis of water (H2O). Separating the oxygen from the hydrogen then using the later as fuel can and should be the future, so long as there is an economical means of separating the 2 elements. As we know, most of the earth is water, and we’re not running out of that any time soon.

Ha! You don't know Biden and the Democrats. They will repeal that law and we will have Climate Change friendly recyclable sustainable Free Trade organic energy for the elite. You may have to subsidize it at first. Only temporarily. Like building toll roads. A little up front expense.
Whomever is generating interest in this should take out a HUGE insurance policy on themselves. Going up against the big guys shortens lifespans.

Separating the covalent bond between hydrogen and O2 requires more energy than can be utilized by the hydrogen. Nobody has demonstrated an economical method yet.

I just don’t understand why anyone buys into these ideas.
Every part of the design has efficiency loses. From air movement to wire resistance. It can’t output more energy than it consumes without a fuel source.
What is the fuel being used?

That is a technical response that most likely is precisely correct.
So to be a practical solution, eventually bearings and magnets will need to be replaced. So that boils down to economics and an analysis of the value of the excess electricity produced over the costs ofbearing/magnet replacement

I know, just having some fun here. In reality, when a spacecraft zips by a planet and speeds up (picks up energy), the planet, at the same time, slows down (loses energy)*...net result is zero new energy.
*of course the planet doesn’t slow down very much, maybe a trillionith of an MPH or something (probably much less, in fact), so not very noticeable!

FWIW (probably not much, as it’s wasted on you), when a spacecraft uses the gravity of a planet to increase it’s speed, that energy might appear to be “free” to to spacecraft, but it actually slows down the rotation of that planet by an amount equal to the energy gained by the spacecraft. Not free, nothing ever is - TANSTAAFL.
