Tom Selleck Hits Home Run At Tigers Stadium During Batting Practice 38 Years Ago Today

I think Selleck played volleyball at USC. He was an athlete. And a talented actor as well obviously.

He was Jaclyn Smith's love interest on a Charlies Angels episode. Doesn't get any better than that.

He was also the epitome of cool. Top Ten Mustaches ever.

What limp-wristed actor or bro-country artist today could go up there and knock one out - even in old Tiger Stadium?

Your picture is really big.

Can he hit it out of old Tiger Stadium though - after wearing a Tiger cap on his show for years? Maybe he can? I don’t know. I hope so - then maybe there’s hope.

Tom Selleck was a real life infantryman.

I never made it to the Majors, but if a pitcher hung a curve ball to me, he’d almost certainly regret it.

A nice detail that they used a select fire prop for the photo.
Might have expected some gun nuts would know.

I think Reggie’s never made it out. It hit the roof and bounced back in.

But now he’s shilling for a reverse mortgage company. Not good.

What’s wrong with that? I remember my dad being upset when Lorne Green started selling dog food.

I have no problem with actors selling products, but reverse mortgages are generally considered exploitative investments. You're basically being charged interest twice.

I also have a problem with actors selling bad life insurance like Alex Trebek (RIP) or people selling bad car repair and/or home repair insurance.

You would think that someone with the reputation of Tom Selleck could be a spokesperson for Chic-Fil-A or some other generally reputable firm. Instead, they are shilling for specific companies or entire industries with sketchy reputations.

It's like all those YouTubers who can't make money after the Adpocalypse and are shilling for companies that sell fake Scottish Lordships or fake psychotherapy.
