RIP and sympathies to the family.
I know, but there an elephant in the room, although Jim Fixx, a best selling author on running, died of a sudden heart attack in 1984.

Fixx died of a heart attack at 52. He tried to run away from heart disease and was a bit successful. His father died of a second heart attack at 43. What Fixx did not do was get screened. It’s possible one of the available treatments might have extended his run.

History and exposure to drugs may be part of it but this is happening too often at a ridiculously young age.

Fixx was also a decade older and had other issues.
But this is playing out all too often.

I remember Sean and his team in Williamsport.
RIP Sean. You did great things.

Burroughs, who died Thursday at age 43 from cardiac arrest, overcame a drug addiction that fueled a descent into what the ex-Padres third baseman described as a hallucination-filled, wretched existence from 2008-10. Scavenging garbage cans for food and moving from one seedy Las Vegas motel to another, Burroughs may have died if not for family members, substance-abuse workers and others who rescued him...

Jim Fixx always comes to mind in these situations. That one and this one are real shockers.

Do little leagues normally do death announcements? Seems odd.
Anyhow, condolences to his family and friends.

Burroughs gave several interviews where he described his drug use. On top of that many MLB players of his era were using steroids. Hard to be sure what killed him but if I had that history I wouldn’t get near the clot shot with a ten foot pole.
