Wonder if this supermarket was open 24 hours? If not she probably had access to free food, but wouldn't the video cameras show her roaming around the store?

How can you NOT admire the woman’s resourcefulness? Usually these stories are in the realm of ADHD 25 year-old men.

This reminds me of the 1948 movie An Apartment for Peggy, where a homeless postwar couple wrangles a professor into renting his attic, and then turn it into a makeshift efficiency. It's an interesting movie on a number of levels, but that is a subject for another post.

Most grocery stores have night staff stocking shelves, so she probably wasn’t stealing at night.

If not she probably had access to free food, depends how the grocery store managed their trash, but the dumpsters could be a cornucopia.

Didn’t Greg Maddux, when he first pitched for the Cubs, live in the scoreboard in center field? Granted, I think there is an apartment up there, but still, this story reminded me of that.

I love stories like this.
There was also a guy who spent years living at an airport. Nobody ever caught on to him because he changed locations daily and everybody is used to seeing people sleeping in airports. He had places where he could take showers and tend to her personal hygiene as well.
I think they made a movie about him.

B..Did she ever trying to make money by renting out an empty corner; AirBnB style?
C..A single woman, who doesn’t own a mirror?

Opportunity! Take advantage of unused space and build more signs with integral shelters. Would preserve dignity too, as they can just say, like shopkeepers did for decades, that they “live above the store”.

Betcha it wasn’t just a coffee maker she had. Probably stole all her food from the store, too. The amount of the food probably would total up to felony-level.

In the middle ages in Europe people used to live in the city walls. Usually the spaces were about four to five feet wide and of course as long as needed. I have seen remanents when in the servive in Germany. Butzbach had city walls still remaining with evidence of past iving quarters.
