The record-breaking rain that fell over the United Arab Emirates and Oman this month, triggering deadly floods and chaos, was driven partly by the climate crisis, according to a scientific analysis published Thursday, which pointed directly at humans burning fossil fuels.
A team of 21 scientists and researchers, under the World Weather Attribution initiative, found that climate change was making extreme rainfall events in the two countries — which typically fall during El Niño years — between 10 and 40% more intense than they would have been without global warming.
Over a period of less than 24 hours between April 14 and 15, the United Arab Emirates experienced its heaviest rainfall in since records began 75 years ago. Dubai — a glitzy desert city accustomed to going months with no precipitation at all — experienced the equivalent of more than a year and a half’s worth of rain in that time, the analysis said.
However, they concluded global warming was the “most likely” driver of the record rainfall, because the atmosphere in a 1.2-degree warmer world can now hold 8.4% more moisture, which is making extreme rain events more intense. Changing circulation patterns driven by global warming are also increasing rainfall intensity, the analysis noted.
Global warming was the only remaining reason they could identify to explain the heavier downpour.

I have an eight year old boy in the house, that stuff on the wall is brown and it isn't Climate Change.
Or maybe it is.
Ah, today’s daily dose of climate fear porn. Coming from the usual group of STEM-challenged folks whose only possible job was the media.
Because.
I wish the media would quit pushing their religion down our throats
I guess what surprises me is that Miss Angela Dewan can just simply disregard what her employer published less than a week ago about what she is publishing today.
Facts matter.
And where are her editors? They are supposed to protect the integrity of company.
This article makes the people at CNN look like a foolish idiots.
A high school news paper could do better.
Do they have no short term memory? ITS BEEN LESS THAN A WEEK!
I prefer to think of it as the wrath of God.
You wish?
This crap will NOT stop until the hangings START.
We can start with Dr BILL GATES with his gene therapy vaxxxxxxines and Brandon for forcing them on the public.
Then we can start the trials for the green energy scam.
ETC
Yes cities have an atmosphere of their own, and many temperatures are taken at airports with acres of tarmac heating the air.
And tons of concrete that absorb heat during the day and release it during the night.
Average temperature of the day is degrees higher than the surrounding area.
Catastrophism Ping
When all you have is a hammer . . . .
You nailed it.
yep
Of course it’s climate change.
THE PLANET HAS A FEVER, we must act NOW.
Which is it? Droughts or deluges?
Silly me. It’s both.....
“Not one mention of the fact that the United Arab Emirates had Seeded The Clouds that dumped record breaking rains on these countries. Despite the fact that CNN published this article, (https://www.cnn.com/2024/04/17/weather/cloud-seeding-dubai-explained/index.html) on April 17 that is still on their website they can publish an article that says there is no other explanation other than Human Caused Global Warming.”
That “news” was not supposed to have been ‘leaked’ out. Reality, truth, etc... is the enemy of these Globalist elitists goons. That they’ve been tinkering with the weather (weather modification = weather weaponization) for decades is a fact that they don’t want most humans to be aware of. Which is why when you mention the crap they’re spraying into the atmosphere, into the air that we breathe, most clueless idiots will look at you like you’re nutz or call you a stupid, wacko conspiracy theorist.
These are the same people that rarely even look up from their mobile device, much less check the skies for those obvious, tic-tac-toe signs of chem-spraying. They don’t know the difference, since they’re the ones that are stupid, from a contrail and a chemtrail. That’s what we are up against. Absolute ignorance, arrogance and sheer stupidity. And these people vote. Hence, our dilemma.
Thanks Pontiac, but note that this isn't necessarily a catastrophism topic. As the rules of ecology say, one can change the environment, but not the rules by which it operates. Too bad the AGW hoaxters don't know that one.
In the nineties I worked in Saudi Arabia for a little over a year. That winter I was surprised to see heavy rain that lasted for days on end, all the streets were flooded and almost impassable. More rain than I had ever seen anywhere before or since.
They told me it was not that unusual.
Part of the problem was the fact that apparently the storm drains fill in with sand during the rest of the year.
The landscape itself was under water, you would not believe we were in a desert. Of course, once the rains stopped, as spring came on, the water sank into the sand and disappeared. That, and they got out there and cleared the storm drains which allowed the streets to clear.
Don’t forget - “Regulate the size and frequency of volcanic eruptions.”
Yes, tx; I am adding:
Set the size of, frequency of, and emissions limits from, volcanic eruptions
