They had been waiting for the longest time.
During a televised Billy Joel concert on Sunday night, enraged fans slammed CBS for cutting it off in the middle of one of the hitmaker’s most popular songs.
CBS was broadcasting the 100th concert of Joel’s residency at Madison Square Garden. It was slightly delayed due to the network’s coverage of the Masters golf tournament, which caused the snafu later.

I hate that song.
Don’t blame CBS, it is actually the local affiliates’ decision to run their “if it bleeds it leads” late local news instead of letting the concert finish.
But I bet every single commercial was shown at the exact specified time
Guy is a poser, anyway. Yapping about rich people, and pretending to be a big advocate for the working class, and he has more money than Solomon.
And his music s#cks.
Yeah, you can blame CBS:
When the Post reached out to CBS for comment, the network responded with the statement, “A network programming timing error ended last night’s Billy Joel special approximately two minutes early in the Eastern and Central Time Zones. We apologize to Mr. Joel, his fans, our affiliated stations, and our audience whose viewing experience was interrupted during the last song. Due to the overwhelming demand from his legion of fans, BILLY JOEL: THE 100TH – LIVE AT MADISON SQUARE GARDEN will be rebroadcast in its entirety on CBS on April 19th at 9:00PM ET/PT.”
A new “Heidi Moment”?
Piano Man…one of the most underplayed songs ever. Not.
if i can bang christy brinkley, i wouldn’t mind being a poser.
that woman is still hot for a 54 year old man like me
I love that song.
At least he isn’t Bruce Springsteen.
They’ve been divorced for 30 years.
At least Joel is happy sometimes. Springsteen always looks so unhappy and angry.
No he is not Springsteen. While a Lib he doesn’t wear his politics so all can see. To see the difference between them go to their songs about Nam. Born in the USA is a draft dodgers hymn attacking the war and labeling those who fought it as victims. Goodnight Saigon OTOH was Joel’s response to friends who served and asked him for a song. He at first refused saying he didn’t serve so he had no right to sing about it. His friends, mainly had been Marines, said they would tell him their stories and he could organize them. At his concerts, especially on Long Island NamVets in uniform come up to the platform as Billy sings Goodnight Saigon. As the song’s vocals pause Billy embraces them and the crowd reaction is something to see and feel.
yeah, just like yesterday to me. ha ha
Reminds me of the Heidi Incident.
Good for CBS. Do this more often.

Chick song...
I love the most anything that’s been way overplayed on the radio and that includes the Eagles, Journey, Billy Joel’s stuff is right up there.
Before Steve Perry joined up with Journey they were a smokin’ hot progressive rock outfit and I like those three albums of that slice of time, but once Perry came on board the commercial formula was applied and the rest is history as far as their bank accounts go.
“At least he isn’t Bruce Springsteen”
Well, there’s that...
