In a move that has captured the imagination of skywatchers and travelers alike, Delta Air Lines is setting the stage and offering two special flights that will allow flyers to witness next week's total solar eclipse from the best vantage point possible.

The flights will take place on Monday, with one going from Austin to Detroit and a second route from Dallas to Detroit. Both sold out in 24 hours. These flights were strategically chosen to skirt the path of the eclipse, with a special detour over southeast Missouri planned for the optimal viewing experience. There, the aircraft will perform a meticulous 30-degree bank on either side, granting passengers a rare four-minute glimpse of the eclipse.

Tell him to drive very carefully due to the traffic. It is absolutely horrible in Central TX.

My favorite map of the eclipse:

The weather forecast is looking promising, too.

Kinda wish we could have gotten things together to rent out my Mom’s old house. Could have made a bundle...

That’s a very good interactive map, BTW.

Now that we have the Internet, eclipses are far more dramatic.

Before the Internet, most of us saw a picture of the eclipse on the front page of the newspaper the day after.

I was a junior in high school during the eclipse of February 1979. Our algebra teacher kept us in class the whole time and pulled the shades shut on the windows so we would not be distracted and could thus focus on the Pythagorean Theorem.

Next period, a sympathetic history teacher pulled out a TV and let us watch the eclipse that happened an hour before. Well, it was already history by then so we were in the right class for it.

“In reality today we are in a CO2 minimum not far from levels for most life on earth that would perish.”

Had heard this too but thanks for reminding.

Climate Catastrophists care nothing about the climate. All they want is for most humans on earth to die so the number of live humans on earth drops to a billion or less. Whatever it takes to reach that goal is what they are for.
