Indeed. I love heat, don’t turn on air conditioner until it’s 96 inside.
I’d be interested in a cold-blocking window.

“Dichroic” filters for stage and movie lights, from when tungsten filaments made the light, have been available for many decades. They allow the lght to pass, and block most of the infra-red. See wiki for more.
Less of a problem today, when most stage and movie lights are LED-based.

Interesting. A number of medical commentators are saying that eliminating IR light indoors is harming our bodies. Near IR stimulating cellular melatonin production.

This is a bad idea. If we keep all the heat out and not let some inside, the earth will get hotter and our global warming crisis will only worsen and we’ll die sooner.

UV is more dangerous than people realize. Cataracts and destruction and degradation of materials are just the beginning. If you want a tan go outside.
If you want infrared, there are tons of IR heaters on the market.........

I imagine it also blocks cold from passing thru in the Winter? There's no such thing as cold.

Nope. Zero Kelvin is a lack of heat. The temperature you listed is measuring heat. You cannot measure cold.

There is only ‘heat’ and ‘less heat’..................

Southwall Technologies was making heat-rejecting coatings that pass visible light 30 or 40 years ago. In 2012, Eastman Chemical Company acquired Solutia Inc—the parent company of Southwall. I’m not sure what happened to their products after getting acquired.

Assuming their invention works, you could always just flip the window over to trap heat inside.

Does it keeps heat on the inside from getting out we’ll stew in our own juices.
To: Red Badger
Yeah, but what’s the cost of the windows?
