I just returned home from putting my badly injured dog to sleep. Euthanizing a beloved pet never gets easier.
So sorry, CrimsonTidegirl. ( ( ( (( hugs )) ) ) )
I actually believe (or want to believe) that we’ll re-connect with our pets in the afterlife. Nothing says we won’t. Other animals are mentioned as being in The Kingdom. My mother, a preacher’s wife for 50 years, doesn’t think it’s crazy — that it’s possible.
That’s interesting about visitors seeing a deceased pet.
Thank you and my condolences for your loss. Euthanizing a beloved fur baby is absolutely brutal.
My Golden Retriever Bella is waiting for her son to come home. 😢 They were so close that I hope she doesn’t grieve herself to death.
Dogs are truly a gift from God.
So sorry for your loss and thank you.
Prayers for you all FRiend.
You are correct, it never gets any easier, but know that you did right by Bailey, and know that Bailey is grateful.
And hopefully, Bella knows. They understand more than we can imagine.
Thank You Lord, for helping us learn about Love, from Your creatures.
Tatt
My condolences for the loss of your friend. Dogs are so incredibly loyal and loving.
Whenever he wanted inside the house, he would use his tail to knock on the door. A little while ago, out of habit, I found myself opening the door to his storm cellar (computer room closet) because of the expected storms tonight.
He was petrified of storms.
Dogs are special companions.
“Blue Heelers are special.”
I couldn’t agree with you more. Being his human mother was a privilege.
I have a female, 4.5 years old...a rescue. Her energy keeps me going. (((HUGS)))
Thank you!
Oh yes, they are definitely a gift from God.
Now I’m sitting here and I’m crying again. 😥
I just hate this part of life.
“Only thing worse is seeing your pet run over right in front of your eyes”
When I was six, I was sitting on our front porch and watched our poodle go under the wheels of a school bus. That was brutal.
I was changing clothes when Bailey was hit. I heard an agonized scream and ran outside to find him bleeding, shaking violently and barely able to walk.
My neighbor told us what happened because her father in law was the person who struck Bailey. It affected him because he loves animals. It was just a tragic accident.
Hugs to you.
Sincere, heartfelt sympathy to you in this loss.
Thank you.
I’ve spent 40 years waiting for That One Dog to somehow get back to me.
I’ve searched the eyes of every dog or puppy I had, looking for him in there somewhere.
All my dogs have been loved like mad but I’m still hoping for him again.
I do think maybe previous dogs influence their “ replacements”.
I was heartbroken that Hrafi wasn’t more like Bubby who I’d lost and then one day, Hrafi took up singing the song of his people if I left the room, just like Bubby did
Not gonna lie, I was halfway up the steps and I just cried for the joy of hearing that.
And then I lost Hrafi too and months later got a pup.
He immediately grabbed one of Hrafis screaming chicken toys and I cried again.
Months of not hearing those chickens shrieking constantly just about killed me.
The deafening silence of this place was unbearable.
And now little 4 month old Bannor has been trying out his howls
If nothing else, it has to be my lost boys telling him what I need to have to get by, especially now that all else is gone.
But just think how many millions of dogs are in the whole world! It’d be like winning the lottery.
