My Dear ol’ Mom had a saying in her dotage: “Old age is cruel.”
We, the younger whippersnapper generation found it humorous, and shortened it into a gag line: “O.A.I.C.” Yup, Mom; sure enough.

I agree. It is one thing if they are doing publicity or pushing something but just going about their daily business not bothering anyone?
Leave them be.
Otherwise you are being a bit creepy.

That’s what I need, a much younger wife to ease me thru my twilight years and keep me out of a nursing home as I deteriorate into senility. Good for Gene. He was great in The French Connection.

Speaking of Gene, a few years ago I was driving in Poughkeepsie and saw a sign that said “Welcome to Poughkeepsie” so without even thinking, I went around the block, parked near the sign, took off my shoe and sock and lifted my foot up and picked it with my fingers and took a photo. When I got home I posted it on this Gene Hackman Facebook fansite with the caption “Did you ever pick your feet in Poughkeepsie?” and I wrote “Why, yes I have” with the photo. LOL! Totally nuts, but that’s the nonsensical line he kept repeating in the French connection.

Really loved the French Connection. Gene Hackman won the Oscar for Best Actor.
At the Academy Awards the emcee announced on stage that Hackman had volunteered to drive anyone home who didn’t have a ride.

God bless him, and Dick Van Dyke. I’ll be 77 in August. I’ll never live to my 90’s. I’ve already outlived every one else in my family. And if this country keeps on a downward spiral as it appears to be, who the hell would want to live that long?
