Last month, conservative news host Jesse Kelly told Megyn Kelly on her podcast that “the mentally ill single woman is the beating heart of the Democrat Party.”
He proclaimed over 70 percent of single women vote Democrat. Furthermore, he declared that “studies” show approximately 60 percent of those women had been diagnosed with some sort of mental illness.
Kelly (the man) joked that everyone knows a woman with “her eyes half bugged out of her skull. … She ruins Thanksgiving every time bragging about her 15th abortion!” While Kelly’s exaggerations made me laugh, I simultaneously thought to myself, Oh crap. He’s talking about me. Or at least who I used to be. And while I’ve not had 15, or even one abortion — thank the Lord — I have been known to ruin a perfectly fine family event.

In the circles I ran, there was a lot of talk about being a “goddess.” We spiritually minded gals were never single through any fault of our own, but because men don’t appreciate “evolved” women who have “done the work” to be in a “conscious” relationship. Of course, being dateless had nothing to do with the fact that such work lends itself to extreme narcissism and an air of arrogance. Humility is not exactly a defining characteristic of the left.
I became convinced that career success would be as fulfilling, if not more so, than being in a relationship or becoming a mother. Achieving independent “boss lady” status would be my crowning achievement. Newsflash: It has not been. Frankly, it’s difficult managing life and all its challenges alone, particularly financial.
The left gives single women like me a lot of rationale to feel better about themselves and the poor choices they’ve made. The message was that sex without commitment is empowering, despite the very real possibility of it leading to dreadful outcomes, including sexual abuse. While being overpowered by a man is never a consequence any woman deserves, women should always be willing to cast a critical eye toward their own behavior. It probably was not the wisest thing for me to dress like a hooker, get drunk, and vow revenge on an ex back in college. My bad.
But victimhood is the necessary tool of the left. While womanhood is not as high on the victim hierarchy as it once was, particularly at a time when many seem to find it difficult to define what a woman is, it can still be used to effectively cry foul against the evil patriarchy.
Leftist policies make it easy for women to avoid the consequences of bad behavior that would normally serve as course correctors, and progressive ideology must always deflect blame. Messy, drunk sex? No problem. The Pill or an abortion will solve that. Just ask Olivia Rodrigo. Overweight because you don’t take care of your body or your health? Of course, that’s society’s fault for pushing an unrealistic standard of beauty. And who cares because, well — Ozempic! Right, Oprah? Not earning enough money to gallivant the globe like a paid influencer? Clearly, that’s the patriarchy at work!
But, of course, there are consequences. It is the depression, unfulfillment, loneliness, and yes, sometimes mental instability that often comes with living a life focused solely on yourself and casting off any sense of responsibility.
Under the Righteousness Is Pain and Disappointment I earnestly tried to understand why I ended up dating the fifth jackass in a month, but I kept looking to the wrong people for help. I did all the things the “experts,” therapists, or, worst of all, life coaches told me to do to find success in dating or a relationship with no success. I’ll never forget the day my so-called shaman told me if I were ready for the relationship I wanted, then he (meaning a partner) would be here by now, implying that I needed to embark on more psychedelic sessions that, of course, lined his pockets and emptied mine. I’ll let you guess which one of us drove around in a Porsche Cayenne.
More often than not, these so-called professionals have never sustained a healthy relationship themselves. It’s like going to a gambler for financial advice. Better to go to the married woman down the street to get the real low-down on marriage rather than people who have no clue what it means to sacrifice your own desires for the good of another. I’ve now found that a cocktail or glass of wine with my girlfriends, along with church, is better and cheaper therapy than any “relationship coach” I’ve ever sought out.
The danger with all this “self-care” is that women think they are healing when actually, they are morphing into if not a mentally ill, as Kelly points out, then a highly unstable person, becoming more obstinate in their worldview and convinced of their righteousness. Underneath that righteousness is a lot of pain and disappointment, ready to explode at the slightest microaggression or innocent male who attempts to flirt.
For all the talk of female empowerment, progressive women are actually fragile and quite afraid of being labeled as unkind or lacking in empathy, so they rarely question the narrative they’ve been fed. The result is the hypocrisy the left is so well known for — a caring and compassionate veneer with a heart full of judgment and anger. Indeed, hell hath no fury like a single liberal woman.
I’d like to state for the record that not all single liberal women are like this. I have several friends who are very steady and in long-term relationships or marriages and still consider themselves left of center. However, I’ll also point out to them how, despite their fairly progressive views, they live a rather conservative, if maybe unconventional, life. They are liberal in the old-school sort of way, not the crazy, hair on fire, you can be any gender you want kind of way.
However, this was not the kind of liberal I was. I was insufferable and immature. I was exactly the kind of woman Kelly described. I’ve grieved over my past mistakes and missteps and asked for forgiveness, in some cases from particular people, but mostly from God. Because of His grace, I have changed. I am a happier, more peaceful, genuinely confident woman.
I’m filled with gratitude that God turned me in the “right” (pun intended) direction. I’m just sorry I didn’t do it sooner. I pray other women don’t fall into the same progressive pitfalls I did, but it’s never too late to choose a life of sanity. Such were some of you.

However, speaking as a guy, I must say there is a problem with many men as well. These would be the goofy, ballcap backwards wearing overgrown kids, who spend all their free time playing video games, watching sports on TV, dressing like a total slob, and pretending to be "useless" at raising children or helping out with household chores. What woman would want to marry a guy like that? They don't need to be a mommy to an overgrown son, they need a husband who is responsible, brings home the money, and helps out with the kids and house.
So not only do women need to clean up their "girl boss" act and adopt more traditional feminine values, but the boys need to grow up and be men as well.
If you look at the vote throughout the West, it is the female vote (left) against the male vote (right).
It isn’t just the voting itself, it is how having to appeal to the female voter changed politics, it changed the language and it changed the issues, what we think of as conservative politicking today would be much more direct and forceful with different issues and focus if all the voters were male, the kind of issues and focus that builds nations and protects them.
Throughout the Western world the left would not exist as we know it today if they did not have the female voters because they don’t convince the majority of males, although as the West becomes more and more feminized through the female power of voting, the young males raised in a female world by females are becoming more like their single and divorced moms who raise them although male biology restrains some of that.
If society were more masculine as it used to be then political discourse would be far more brutal, truthful, and honest, and males in general and both political parties would be more conservative than they are today since the West would be operating from the male perspective and nature as it had for thousands of years.

We had a Catholic FReeper on this forum once state that only practicing Catholics should be allowed to vote because only they have a clear headed perspective on reality and can make good decisions.

It isn’t a matter of going after anyone, it is seeing what brought down Western Civilization, for the first time in history the Western world pulled women out of their zone and in effect put them in charge due to their voting numbers.
Through human existence men ran the things outside of the home the divide in responsibilities and decision making were between female and male, today because of one person one vote, women run the Western democracies, and the decay will get worse as the old residue of the past fades away and we continue to exhaust the principal base of our nations.
This isn’t just in America, it is throughout the West, even in Switzerland although women only got the national vote in 1971, their vote has been softening what made Switzerland great and what protected it.

Well my dear, welcome to the life of most young men. Women find a statistically impossible 80% of men "below average" according to surveys. So for the vast majority of young men who haven't had the opportunity to accomplish much yet or earn a lot of money....well, you can imagine what the dating prospects are like.
You spend a lot of time talking about "unfairness" and the "work" women put into boyfriends knocking off some of their rough edges. From the male perspective it looks exactly the opposite. It is women who are dealt all and I mean ALL the cards early on.....without working for any of it. Nature just gives it to them. Far from putting in a lot of "work" on men, what I saw from a lot of women in their 20s was the exact opposite. Any work they put in was solely in pursuit of the most elite men. That would be fair enough if we were talking about elite women themselves but no. We're talking about damn near all of them. The smart ones figured out they were being unrealistic early on. Many kept pursing men who were clearly out of their league until all their youth was gone.
So when is her time, exactly? For leisure, ease, liberty?

Did I mention that as a man you have less than a 10% chance of being awarded custody of your children from the marriage in case of divorce? Have we even discussed alimony or child support yet? Boy, this deal just looks better all the time for you as a man, doesn't it?
Last week, we looked back at old photos and agreed we’d given each other our respective best years.
Yes. You have what I call "goodwill" with him. You invested your youth in your relationship with him. He knows you don't think you settled. You actually wanted to be with him. You're not desperate because the ole biological clock is ticking as loud as a steam engine in your ears. You didn't pick him because you thought he was a reasonable acceptable schlub you could have your kids with and then optionally discard. You actually wanted to be with him. He knows because you invested your youth. If he is a decent guy, this counts for a LOT with him. Enough probably to have a happy marriage for the rest of your lives and have a family together.....unlike your friends who wasted their youth pursing men they couldn't land while turning down good men they could have been happy with....but now likely will never get.
I see you've met my family.......smart, educated, live their lives as conservatively as anyone, vote idiotically.

That used to be pretty common knowledge....back when women were more sensible....before Feminazis convinced them he had to be all those things AND their own age. The problem is in the modern world by the time a guy can get done with school, get good work experience or build up his own business, he's probably going to be in his early to mid 30s. Of course by then, the women his age are past their prime, often desperate and as he well knows, wanted nothing to do with him for the last 10-15 years while he was working to get where he is.

I was divorced with 3 kids.
I met my much younger girlfriend at work.
She loved her job but would go home to her little apartment with her 3 cats and read books.
That was her life.
I was making pretty good money and took her out dancing or just walking where the nightlife lives.
I took her to concerts and was able to get front row seats.
I would buy her shiny jewelry she called candy.
After 5 years she panicked when she became pregnant.
She loved her job, never wanted to get married and never wanted to have kids.
She didn’t think she could be a good Mom.
I quit my job to raise our daughter and got into a business I could do from home.
My wife has been a great mother.
My daughter loves horses and so now we have a house with horses.
My wife and daughter love going places together.
There has never been any yelling in my house, I won’t allow it.
I was there to intervene when my wife attempted to place excessive punishment on my daughter.
I was there to tell my wife that teachers were wrong for wanting our daughter to seek help for
being hyperactive.
My daughter started kindergarten already knowing how to read.
She will graduate college with only 2 classes she didn’t get an ‘A’ in and will graduate early.
A few years ago my wife registered Republican.
That was great biographical reading. I’m jealous cause I don’t have horses. They are such noble creatures.
My house has some yelling, especially when I’m trying to sleep.
Maybe being a ran through shrew isnt the answer for these women?
