Multiple intel sources: Baltimore bridge collapse was an “absolutely brilliant strategic attack” on US critical infrastructure - most likely cyber - & our intel agencies know it. In information warfare terms, they just divided the US along the Mason Dixon line exactly like the Civil War.
Second busiest strategic roadway in the nation for hazardous material now down for 4-5 years - which is how long they say it will take to recover. Bridge was built specifically to move hazardous material - fuel, diesel, propane gas, nitrogen, highly flammable materials, chemicals and oversized cargo that cannot fit in the tunnels - that supply chain now crippled.

No, what appear on online maps to be bridges crossing the Baltimore Harbor (i.e., I-95 and I-895) are actually bridge-tunnels. And, currently, the transport of hazardous cargo by truck or tanker truck through these tunnels is prohibited.
But you are correct, I think, with your overall assessment that this ludicrous report by Loomer is wildly overstating how dire is this situation. Trucks hauling hazardous cargo along the I-95 corridor will just have to go west of the city along I-695, the Baltimore beltway, instead of east of the city, across the now-demolished bridge. A considerably longer trip, yes, but seemingly manageable.
As for ship traffic in and out of the harbor itself, once the fallen bridge debris is cleared from the channel -- a process that should take but a few weeks at most -- business would presumably return pretty much to normal.
It may take years for the bridge to be replaced, yes, and that will present considerable difficulties for the locals in the meantime. But this is not the existential crisis that clowns like Loomer are trying to project.
It was in news reports - and for all we know that information WAS from the crew or the Port Administration. The presence of a pilot or pilots is required by law.
From the port of Baltimore’s own twitter feed “fierce wimmens” and “firsts” plus celebrating the month of wahmens.
MV Dali was cited previously for engine issues.
Odds are, it really is a perfect storm of woke and incompetence.
Which won’t ever be admitted to.
I remain convinced it was an accident (at this point) but I will say I trust virtually nothing from “official sources” especially for about 5 years now.
Really since the Manchurian Candidate showed up about 15+ years ago.
Some individual shoots up a school and leaves a manifesto. The authorities refuse to release the manifesto and bring in the “experts” to speculate as to why the person shot up the school. Case closed. I guess we’ll never know, right? When the authorities refuse to release what the person responsible for the act says, I get real suspicious. Why do you think we haven’t been told other than the obvious. The authorities don’t want us to know the truth. Just release the guy behind the wheel’s story. Why not?
“It’s difficult to explain to people how long it takes one of these tubs of lard to respond to pilot commands.”
I’ve talked to Mississippi River river pilots and they train all of their lives for the job and know the river at ever point, but there is nothing they can do, except drop anchor if a ship loses power. Even if a ship is powered and a errant barge gets in the channel, there is nothing they can do.
That said, I do want to know why a ship that just undocked and was heading out of port lost power within 30 minutes of pulling away.

Exactly but the pilot has no control over the mechanics of the ship. If something fails he is as helpless as anyone else.
I got up this morning. I Looked at my phone to check the news and saw the video. My immediate reaction was a floating 9/11. It could have been an innocent and very stupid accident. Just tell us what whoever was behind the wheel said happened and then we can put the speculation to rest. I don’t think that’s out of line to expect.
Everybody on Free Republic and Twitter became expert harbor pilots today.
I agree.
Plus, American (not gov’t) ingenuity, and opportunistic enterprise will find new ways to deliver.
Why do wheels fall off of airliners shortly after they take off? Why does a fuselage panel blow out of an airliner that's practically brand new?
Sometimes the simplest, most obvious explanation is the best. Companies cutting corners to save a few shekels, that's all.
How did it lose power? Bad gas, ship put in wrong gear, did the crew really put it on auto pilot and go to bed? Honest to God, that’s what I see on TV from the expert speculators. What have you heard the experts say? Wouldn’t you like to hear what the pilot said?
Go down to Pilottown, Louisiana and talk to a river pilot. They know every inch of the river and can guide any ship at anytime, but not without power. Even with power, if a barge gets in their way, the barge is going to get struck.
They are interesting people, they learn the river from their fathers, who learned the river from their father, and they make a very good living.
I have an idea: you get yourself a little boat and a couple of reporters, and go out in the midst of all that Coast Guart/First Responder activity, and demand to interview the crew.
Let us know how you’re received.
Did you even scan the gcaptain article? The ship got written up for a deficiency: "described in detail as issues with “gauges, thermometers", and it passed a USCG followup.
You're trying to make a mountain out of what isn't even a molehill.
I’m with you. Ship/Barge vs Bridge collisions aren’t exactly rare.
