Ayleen Charlotte was scammed out of $140,000 after falling for a man who became known as the "Tinder Swindler", and she told Newsweek the signs she looks for now to steer clear of fraudsters.

Shimon Hayut, otherwise known as Simon Leviev, scammed millions of dollars from women whom he met through Tinder. Several believed he was in love with them, and many are still feeling the sting of their debts today.

While her story went viral, Charlotte's experience is not unique. The FTC found consumers lost a total of $1.3 billion to scammers posing online as romantic interests, either via dating apps or websites.

- CRM, Marketing, collection buying, event planning - Recruiting, coaching/training and motivating team members - Ensuring customer focus and impeccable service - Finance: monthly closings, expenses, P&L and stock control - Visual merchandising and store checks - Written company policies and contracts - Training Store Managers, store visits, managing KPI’s, weekly conference calls and managing all sales."

It's crazy how a reasonably accomplished person with skills to hold down a good job for so long, could be so gullible.

Women are stupid, emotionally speaking. Most of the victims are female. The high profile swindlers all swindle women, and it’s been like that for at least two centuries. You capture a woman’s heart using emotional methods and even a smart one will act like a dumb broad.

That’s interesting. I thought the party line of the “men’s rights” folks was that women swindle “simps” out of their money while offering little to nothing in return. So glad I’m off the dating market and have no skin in this game. I don’t pretend to understand why American men are so angry all the time. Maybe they have cause, maybe they’re just trying to manipulate/intimidate me. Either way, not my problem any more. Hope this woman finds a nice guy like I did.
