Bond is dead - long live Bond!
I was sort of partial to Tom Hiddleston or Cavill
Hiddleston can sure dance I’ll give him that

Sounds good. :o)
An Alpha Male should LOOK like an Alpha Male. Costuming & Make Up has their work cut out for them with this one. ;)
“He is wearing 2 earrings.... He does not look tough.”
In James Bond movies, the women wear the earrings. And perhaps the odd villain or two.
I believe this Aaron Taylor-Johnson is being floated as a trial balloon. If there is enough bad reaction, then he will not get the James Bond role.
The younger generations will go for this guy.
Hat tip stay classy
That is exactly it. 👍
They need to let the James Bond franchise pass into the night. Bond was a WWII vet so would be at least a 100+. They need to make up another MI6 superhero. Then they can let all their woke creative juices flow with the new character.
Lazenby was the most physical Bond. Without shaky-cam or modern fight choreography, the fights in that movie are fast and brutal.
When he throws a punch it looks as real as any movie from that era.
Peter Hunt directed OHMSS and was the editor for previous Bond films; he knew how to edit a fight scene, and Lazenby himself was a bruiser:
Perhaps I was unclear.
I don’t like Lazenby. I never liked Lazenby. I consider his interpretation of the Bond character more wooden than AlGore, his voice grating, and his overall demeanor annoying.
I would rather sit through a complete Yoko Ono concert versus watching OHMSS again. Cleaning hagfish is less disturbing.
No amount of coercion, argument or browbeating will change that. It’s *MY* opinion. I respect yours, kindly extend me the same courtesy and consideration.
Yup. There should be a Polish version of 007. The Russians are next door, after all.
Excellent but Connery and Shaw threw down so well on a train in "From Russia With Love" I still get amped when seeing it. Real fights are a dual battleground of physicality and mental chess. That one was actually paid homage to in "Live and Let Die" - a rare call-back in the franchise outside of running jokes.
Actually there was. Even though it was filmed during Communist times, I enjoyed it.
More than Life at Stake (Stawka wieksza niz zycie) is a Polish television series about a Polish spy deep in the ranks of Abwehr (German military intelligence) during World War II.
If memory serves me correctly the Poles did a clandestine op in Germany where they stole either a prototype or an early Enigma machine to study. Later Polish cryptanalysts\mathematicians at the fall of Poland escaped to France then later to the UK. The heroes of cracking Enigma are three Polish mathematicians not Alan Turing! Turing’s contribution was in the computing machine used and contributed to early Computer Science design & theory. He’s played up by the UK because he’s British and because it’s fashionable to promote him because he’s was homosexual.
Too bad it’s not available for streaming. I’ll have to buy DVDs instead.
On YouTube with English subtitles...
