Intended unintended consequences.
Or, in other words, a LARGE majority of American people?
However, I do have problems with these details:
It found that EVs are 30 percent heavier on average than gas-powered vehicles, which causes the brakes and tire treads to wear out faster than standard cars and releases tiny, often toxic particles into the atmosphere.
Our EV crossover weighs about 10% more than the ICE crossover it replaced, not 30%. Enough for me to do the math on tire wear to see if an EV was worth it (among many pro's and con's)? Yes. Enough for it to be a decision breaker? Not in our situation. Especially given that the regen braking seems to result in way less wear on the brake pads (the other part of the quote above that I have a problem with).
There are many valid arguments against the left forcing or incentivizing EV's onto people. And there are many reasons for a lot of people to not buy an EV in a free market. But the two points here IMHO aren't valid.
The tires wear out much faster
The issue is never the issue. The point is to make personal transportation unaffordable for the masses.

Yeah, people have been saying this for years, it’s just now the media has started to pick up on it.
The next “shocker” is that wind and solar are both net energy negative.

EV brakes last longer than ICE brakes. A problem with EV brakes is rust from lack of use.
At least here in Illinois, electric anything indirectly mostly means coal burning.
That doesn’t even take into account the environmental nightmare that results from battery production and disposal.
what if i told you i don’t buy electric for emissions, i buy it to go 0 - 60 in 2.4 seconds for ~100k instead of 1.1M for ICE?
And, since EV’s have to carry that heavy ballast all time along, they are not really that energy efficient either.
Their only advantage is that their emissions are generated somewhere around power plants in the countryside, not in the cities.
See, they “should’ve had a V-8”....

If true, that would be more evidence that the entire EV push, is a scam.
