Driving in Wisconsin has become a more expensive endeavor in recent days.
The greater Madison region has seen some of the highest prices of regular unleaded gasoline at stations tracked across the state.
According to the AAA gas price tracker, the Madsion metro average Thursday reached $3.27/gallon. That amounted to an average of a 10 cent rise from Wednesday, and a climb of an average of 22 cents since February 22.
The Madison average from one month ago was $2.75/gallon. One year ago, the average was $3.08/gallon.
In the Janesville/Beloit metro area, the average price of regular unleaded gasoline Thursday reached $3.24/gallon, a 10-cent hike from Wednesday, and 23 cents higher from one week ago.
One month ago, the Janesville/Beloit average was $2.70/gallon, and reached an average of $3.03/gallon one year ago.
In a release, AAA said the "upward trend is likely to continue as travelers start heading out of town for Spring Break."
Let's Go, Brandon! *SPIT*
Up. Not possible. Inflation is receeding and the economy is great! Brandon is great. This is another J6 MAGA conspiracy theory.
Gas prices and why they are about to spike (Feb 24)
(Yahoooo covering for Brandon)
Four main factors influence why gas prices go up and down
There are four components that influence the cost of gasoline in the United States, according to data from the U.S. Energy Information Administration. They are:
Crude oil: The cost of crude oil makes up 54% of the price at the pump. That cost is largely dictated by international supply and demand. Several geopolitical factors can influence the crude oil market, but one of the biggest influences is the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC), which is led by Saudi Arabia.
Refining: The cost to refine oil into gasoline makes up 14% of the price. The exact cost of refining varies, depending on a few factors such as the type of crude oil used, the processing technology available at the refinery and the gasoline requirements in specific parts of the country.
Taxes: Making up 16% of the price, the gasoline tax averages $0.57 per gallon, according to the American Petroleum Institute. However, the exact amount fluctuates from state to state.
Distribution and marketing: These costs make up 16% of the price. Gasoline distribution and marketing costs vary depending on whether stations are owned and operated by refineries or are independent businesses that buy gasoline from refineries and resell it to customers.

It is the greedy station operators, Democrats tell us!
Way up here in Indiana. $3.45
It’s Spring, here anyways. Gas prices are rising with the jonquils...........
“Amid” is a favorite word among lazy journalists, used to lay different concepts alongside each other to imply that they’re connected. In this case it’s used in the headline to join what appears to be the same concept stated twice.
Ready for this?
California: ≈ $4.69/gallon of regular gas - and on the rise.
I’m not even ready for $3.27!
Here in northwestern Indiana, the price of regular gas jumped from $3.19 to $3.49 per gallon on Wednesday.
Up 30 cents per gallon in the last few days in the Peoples Republic of Minnesota
I think $3.29 last night in Lake Geneva. It’s been going up the last few weeks. Jumped 20 cents in one week. Eggs are going up again too.
Went from 3.19 to 3.89 in two weeks-in Kane County Illinois.
3.59 in my city. In Illinois.
A tad under three bucks (if you find the right stations) in SC.
$3.60 in Oregon at my local station.
So glad we filled up the truck on Friday when we were running errands in Platteville. :)
It’s hard to keep up with all of this stuff...which seems to be The Plan. :(
How Many More? Illegal With Drunk Driving Record Faces Vehicular Homicide Charges In Wisconsin
Yep. They’re like cockroaches.
Sadly, the Tavern League of Wisconsin is the biggest lobbying organization in the state. They won’t do a THING about drunk driving; legal drivers or invaders. :(
