Tucker stepped in it, here.
Really stepped in it this time. Salaries are one sixth of American salaries and food costs are 1/4-1/6th. Poor Russians. They should overthrow Putin right now, turn their country over to BlackRock and go on to live a great life being raped while supporting “our” democracy.
Oh and we have the privilege of paying a large fraction of thsoe bloated salaries to the government in return for which the taxpayer receives a whole host of “service” that can’t be had in Russia. Tucker is a lying scoundrel.
It’s a matter of perspective. He’s ‘ridiculed’ for being amazed at prices and the appeal of the grocery store, but there are other countries out there (like the ones from which all of the illegals we’re getting come from) that have equivalent wages and higher prices and product availability that are less, too.
The US has higher wages, yes, and much higher prices than 3 years ago - at least from my experience.
The ‘goal’ here with this and other TC stories isn’t about legitimate critique here - it’s to try anything to ‘get TC’ because he talked to Putin and isn’t “all-in” on putting UKR before anything else Americans want and need first. Ask yourself this - when was the last time we saw ANY MSM luminary Jorno go to an American grocery store and do a lengthy video?
“Tucker stepped in it, here.”
How so, by pointing out that Russians can live nearly as well as Americans, given their FAR LOWER cost of living?
“Tucker stepped in it, here.”
No. He did not. He was showing how much Russians pay for food. It has to do with economies of scale.
Our own food costs would be about half what they are now were it not for laws passed that enabled just a few companies to monopolize our food production.
Russia! (please try the chips!)
No not really. I watch a YouTube channel of a Russian couple with one child. They go around and film everyday Russia. Its hardly different than the US. They sat down on one video and went through the laundry list of their basic living expenses. Its very low. Their electric bill is about $15 etc. They drive a nice car, have a nice apartment, go on vacation, go out to eat and they were even out looking to buy 5 acres in the country.
The grocery stores are nice, the restaurants are nice, they have shopping malls. Its clean. From everything I can see they are as free or freer than we are.
Yeah, but the grocery store is pretty nice and the prices are better than here.
What I don’t understand is why people have to lie about things like this. But they do. They have some very nice things now and it is depressing that our used to be nice things are being destroyed.
That doesn’t mean everything everywhere in that country is nice, just like here. But we are allowing our cities and towns to be ruined all over the country.
This is the reality.
Yeah. probably not a place I’d want to go so maybe not the best of looks for Tucker
On the other hand, back in the bad old days of the USSR we loved to contrast American supermarkets with Russian bread lines.
Now in the US we have inflation cutting into food budgets, Biden “shrinkflation” and food deserts in minority dominated areas due to stores fleeing rampant theft and the dangers of violent crime.
And our elites are actively pushing policies and laws to destroy farming and food production in general so food lines for anything but bugs are definitely in our future if things keep going the way they are going.
And it looks like Russia is doing better these days.
Might be nice to ponder
Did he? Perhaps Tucker opened a window for Westerners who believe only what they've been told, or who believe Russia is still mired in the 1990s depression that followed the Soviet collapse.
Russians pay a flat income tax rate of 13% - while we still have the Marxist graduated income tax. Rates of public and private debt are very low. In addition, 85% of Russians own their homes and apartments. And anyone who still believes everything outside of Moscow or St. Petersburg is poor and backward can watch countless YouTube videos from all over Russia. It shouldn't surprise us that a rising tide lifts all boats.
Is one a "Putin lover" or "Russian agent" for observing these things? If the last five years taught us anything, it's that we should think for ourselves -- and be suspicious of those who have lied to us, hidden information from us, and bullied and punished us for asking common sense questions.
The amount a person is paid is not relevant. The purchasing power of the income amount is the important aspect.
No Tucker did not step into it.It just went over your head.
Tucker is talking about inflation in the United States here due to high energy costs that is jacking up the prices. Along with devaluation of our currency due to over printing.
Markets determine prices and not average salaries.
For instance, do you think the price of gold is 1/4 cheaper in Russia do to people’s salaries? The answer is no. The free market determines it.
In Russia they get more bang for their currency than we do here thanks to O’Biden.
