Human remains have once again been found in Austin's Lady Bird Lake. Members of the Austin Police Department responded to the 300 block of West Cesar Chavez Street around 1:30 p.m. local time after receiving an 911 call for an urgent welfare check, Officer Ariel Crumes said at a news conference. The 911 caller said he thought he found a dead body on the north side of the Texas lake, Crumes explained. In a statement obtained by PEOPLE, Austin-Travis County EMS says the adult patient was “obviously deceased” when crews arrived at the scene. Lady Bird Lake is the same body of water where four bodies were found within two months of each other in early 2023. The body of 30-year-old Jason John was found in the lake on Feb. 13, 2023, after he disappeared while out on the town with friends over a week earlier.
