A New York City doorman is being hailed as a hero after he stepped up to help a young woman who was chased down by two robbers and pushed against a wall over the weekend in a brazen, broad daylight attack.
A 24-year-old woman was robbed of her phone by two thieves outside an Upper East Side building at around 3:45 p.m. Sunday, police said.
The victim was not harmed, and the brutes were unable to snatch her purse as well since the doorman of a building at 74th Street and Madison Avenue intervened, ABC7 reported.
“I did what I could, and I wish I could have done more, but it just happened so fast that I couldn’t,” the doorman, who asked to remain anonymous, told the station.

That’s the heart of the Upper East Side.
I understand that former mayor and multi-billionaire Mike Bloomberg lives about two blocks away.
Bold brutes.
“The stratospheric class rift that is being created is going to need little guards at the bottom of each castle.”
I suspect some NYC blocks have dedicated private security.
Good thing the doorman or victim didn’t hurt the perps, they’d be in deep $h!t.
A good friend of mine had a father that was a Doorman in Manhattan. The family lived on the Bronx. The job of a Doorman is pretty amazing. They basically run the building and manage residents lives as well as family members, visitors, deliveries and guests. It is also a union job, or at least was. It actually has a defined pension and medical.
This insanity is being allowed to continue until the populace begs for a National Police force. They won’t have to answer to anyone local.
Here is another hero. Just a few seconds from being run over..

He-he. I loved that character.
The difference between bravery and stupidity is success. White knighting for someone getting culturally enriched will get you killed. I’m not batman and I’m not the unpaid bodyguard for people I don’t know.
The two thieves are now regretting their lack of weapons and lack of resolve.
They will be better prepared next time.
And the next people they encounter will not be so lucky.
And as a side note, these attacks are now happening in cities at all hours. This one was at 3:45 PM. So the old saying “Nothing good happens after midnight.” no longer has much warning value.
Better: “Nothing good happens where Democrats are in control.”
>Many don’t realize the savagery of Central and South America.<
Vigilante justice is also on the rise. It is very targeted, precise and sends a message. Some bad actors are left to be found and some just disappear.
Fortunately the police spend even less time investigating the vigilantism than the little bit they do investigating the crimes.
Many times the perps are caught on ring cameras and their photos are made public. Maybe the police would rather have it this way than the difficult routine (time, money, travel) of prosecuting.
BTW - Jail is no picnic. Family must supply food or the prisoner starves. It is a deterrent.

When the law isn’t enforced, vigilante justice will always come about.
I have zero issue with rapists, pedophiles, and murderers getting executed.

Great line, very wise. And in places like New York City, you must be successful against both the criminal AND the district attorney. Bernie Goetz found that out the hard way.
I think America, generally, was pro-doorman, until Larry Miller came along. And he was funny, if not particularly likable.
Only if the assailants are black which, based upon the intentionally blurred and lightened picture that accompany the article, they are. Another hint that they are black is the use of the word “brutes” in the article.
The crime areas in NYC are spreading.
The voters can thank their stupid sanctuary city and no bail laws. They voted for the folks that made those laws, and until they - the voters - reject the majority of the elected incumbents, things will just get worse.
History repeats itself. Wordsmiths just rearrange the words so you don't notice.
In Memphis they show skycam video of the shootings, robberies, assaults, etc...., and ask for the publics help in identifying the person, but they blurr out all faces and tags. So they really don’t want to know.
