I've been forced to declare my Range Rover off road and sell it for a £15,000 loss after insurers quoted me £890 a MONTH - extortionate premiums are destroying lives
A Range Rover Velar owner says she has had to declare her car off road and will be forced to sell it at a loss of about £15,000 after insurers quoted her £890 a month.
Kirsten Lijeskic, 38, says she got the £56,000 wheels in September 2022 and had been paying £130 a month insurance for her and her husband with Acorn.
But now Kirsten, who lives in Winchmore Hill, north London, says Acorn will not renew their insurance with them and the car's own manufacturer also allegedly told her it 'cannot provide a quote'.
She says the cheapest quote they can find is for £890 a month with Go Girl which they cannot afford and is 'ludicrous'.
As a result, the part-time PA for an investment bank in the city says they will have to sell the car they have 'worked hard their whole lives for' - and at a loss of thousands of pounds.
Kirsten has told MailOnline people like her are being 'punished' and lives are being 'destroyed' as she raised concerns about Range Rover's security protections.
It comes after it was reported last year that Range Rovers are suffering large price drops as their owners struggle to get them insured.
Data from the DVLA in May revealed the Range Rover Velar R-Dyn was the most sought out car by criminals, with two in every 100 of the model stolen.
Land Rover was dubbed the most stolen brand, with 924 stolen per 100,000 in the 12 months to March 2023. It also made up six of the top ten most stolen car models overall.

As with everything automotive, you gotta pay to play!
Being armed with 450 million firearms in civilian hands has not stopped invasion of illegals.
The mistake was buying one of those things. BMW is another loser, imo. I know a guy who was a BMW mechanic. He started a little business buying broken ones, fixing and reselling them.
He made about $1,000 clear profit on each car and was turning 30 a month. This was in the 90’s. He now has a beautiful collection of 20+ 50’s-60’s Cadillacs in a warehouse. Last time we talked he had started restoring VW Campers, said that is a gold mine too.
Hmmm.. Where's the "THAT'S RACIST" kid when you need him.. :)
The globalists want us out of our cars and houses. Insurance rates are one tool they are using to accomplish that.

Yes, but you don’t have the police kicking your door in because you posted on this forum.
While police are doing nothing to round up the illegals.
Inflation hitting those who need to virtue signal

Is that for the vehicle or the tire?

Amen. Many people have a misconception about Range Rovers. I’ve owned them continuously since 1987 when they established a dealer network in the U.S. I’ve owned half a dozen and have had a 2016 LR4 since new. I did the off road driving school at Solihull about 25 years ago. They are extremely comfortable and capable vehicles. They do need proper maintenance, and I’ve only been left stranded once in 35 years…and that was due to a dealer service error, not the vehicle’s fault.
The idiot light meant that you were an idiot to buy a Range Rover.
Theft is rampant in the UK. People ‘joke’ why pickup trucks are scarce over there - anything you put in the back will be stolen the moment you stop at a red light.
You can be charged for waving a knife at a home invader.
Leftism in action.
“coolant intrusion
Ford Edge?”
My guess - Ford anything with an EcoBoost engine. I had Fords for years, but the last one had one of those coolant drinking piles of crap. Ford won’t acknowledge the problem and won’t do a damned thing about it. Their attitude is to tell us to buy a new engine, it’s OUR problem. I doubt I’ll ever buy another Ford as long as I live. I replaced that Ford with, of all things, a Hyundai. Ford should be embarrassed.
“Range Rover was Queen Elizabeth’s car of choice. That’s probably why it was a status symbol of success in England.”
Hapless Harry and Meghan in California drive them too. Though I’ll bet they lease them. Who knows. Being faux Royals they might have scored an excellent lease deal. Perhaps gratis.
In England all I have seen the Royal Family drive is Range Rovers. Chauffeured sometimes. Andrew included. And Prince Philip in his 90s even.
That’s exactly how they plan to squeeze people from owning personal transportation.
Bloomberg on Hyundai and Range Rover thefts. And why rising automobile insurance for everyone. State Farm is the largest automobile insurer and they lost 13 billion on this last year. I am with them and they jacked up my auto insurance. During 2020-2021 peak scamdemic it was $575. Now it is $651
They are not doing that. but locking up that sort of danger is foolish.
they will be liberated either by people who want an army with no problems killing all
or by having paid off guards free them.... families can be threatened.
If they are dead and gone the threat diminishes and the world understands that elsalvadore does not mess around.
Three of the five least stolen cars are Teslas, LOL.
The most stolen is the Charger SRT Hellcat which looks like it sits so low a golf ball would take out the entire underside.
This is how they’ll get rid of gas stoves, gas water heaters, and gas furnaces.
