Trump's top prosecutor in Georgia admits dating DA Fani Willis, but says they always went halfsies on travel

Fani Willis, the Fulton County, Georgia, district attorney prosecuting former President Donald Trump and 18 of his allies over 2020 election interference, admitted to having a relationship with the man she appointed to special prosecutor in the case.

In a new court filing on Friday, attorneys for Willis hit back at demands to disqualify her over allegations that she had an "improper" romantic relationship with special prosecutor Nathan Wade. The highly-anticipated court filing was in response to a January 8 motion that was filed by a lawyer for one of the co-defendants in the racketeering case, former Trump campaign staffer Michael Roman.

That motion alleged that the relationship began while Wade - who filed for divorce from Joycelyn Wade on November 2, 2021 - was married. The divorce filing came a day after Willis appointed Wade to spearhead the probe into Trump and others' efforts to overturn Trump's Georgia loss during the 2020 presidential election.

In Willis' response to the motion on Friday, her attorney argued that the efforts to disqualify her have "no merit" and "should be summarily denied without an evidentiary hearing."

"While the allegations raised in the various motions are salacious and garnered the media attention they were designed to obtain, none provide this Court with any basis upon which to order the relief they seek," the filing from Willis' attorneys says.

Willis' lawyers wrote that she never benefited financially from a relationship with Nathan Wade and that she has no financial or personal conflict of interest that justifies disqualification.

"To be absolutely clear, the personal relationship between Special Prosecutor Wade and District Attorney Willis has never involved direct or indirect financial benefit to District Attorney Willis," the filing read.

So, if you split the bill, adultery isn’t a sin? I think God will roll his eyes on that one on judgment day.

I guess that this story will work for those traveling to Brooklyn on a bridge buying mission.

Where are the receipts? (If this is true, then they should be for the same goods and services at the same time and on the same day.)

...admitted to having a relationship...

Why isn't it an 'inappropriate' relationship?

Benefited fat-bottom Fani? Nope, she just scammed up the money. She got "other benefits."

It was Wade that got the financial benefit.

But the progs are too stupid to make that distinction.

Nathan Wade is simply *not* the “top prosecutor in Georgia”, and I didn’t read past the headline for that reason.

Chris Carr *is* the top prosecutor in Georgia. He has his shortcomings, but he is not prosecuting/persecuting Trump.

"...halfsies..."

Half for the wife, and half for the girlfriend.

Jeeze Wade, what a cheapskate since she was paying you 10 times what you were qualified to earn.

Them claiming they went Dutch is hilarious. Those two idiots thought they were so sly that they could get away with some lavish vacation travel and big-spending high times on the taxpayers dime... I hope they both end up doing some time for grand theft and are prohibited from ever holding a law license or public office ever again.

Kind of makes me wonder sometimes... Are all black democrats thieves?

Why isn't it an 'inappropriate' relationship?

Because Fatti is a Democrat GirlBoss.

Did you see that "Spikey" Isikoff and Daniel "Plaidman" Klaidman stepped in gum with their new book on the Fulton County GirlBoss?

What a couple of DNC Establishment clowns!

I’m thinking back to past occasions where the Clinton’s were found to have cheated on their federal taxes. The solution?

“Oh. Did we make a tiny error? How many millions did we fall short? Oh, we’ll just pay that. No penalty, no interest required because it was an honest mistake. All better now.”

When they find out that Fani in no way paid for half of these extravagances, it will be the same —

“Oh. Did I make a mistake? How much do I owe? All better now.”

There is no way she will suffer any penalty for misusing federal funds.

it is difficult for me to imagine what fulton county citizens must think about all of this (are they not ashamed? or are they proud that these two are “gettin’ sum dat $$$$$$” from “The Man”?)

i think that fani and nathan should be given the “duke and the king” treatment. then they should both be given one way bus tickets back to wakanda-land. maybe it would start a trend.
