Ingenuity's mission is officially coming to an end, but not before mission scientists try to determine how much damage the helicopter suffered.
NASA held a livestream Wednesday (Jan. 31) to pay tribute to Mars helicopter Ingenuity, which suffered rotor damage on its most recent flight. During the livestream, mission managers revealed that all four of Ingenuity's blades were damaged during a rough landing on the Red Planet surface.
Teddy Tzanetos, Ingenuity Project Manager, said that NASA and JPL still aren't sure what caused the damage to Ingenuity's blades; it remains unclear whether the helicopter's power dipped during landing, causing unwanted ground contact, or if it accidentally struck the ground to cause a "brownout."

Lotta wiggle room on Mars.
Lot's of space in this mall.

(Obviously Ginny's been on a mission from God.)
After the second murder of a customer in the parking lot, it closed forever.
Except for the brief dead-cat bounce life it was given to film The Blues Brothers.
I'll add:
If you had not have fallen
Then I would not have found you
Angel flying too close to the ground
And I patched up your broken wing and hung around a while
Trying to keep your spirits up and your fever down...

Some of that stuff is amazing. My son works at NASA. One of the missions he worked on was a solar observation satellite. A few years into the mission, a gyroscope malfunctioned and the solar array turned away from the sun, causing it to go dormant.
For quite a while, several years I think, they periodically checked at and one day found out there was enough energy to push it back into the correct orbit.
It was supposed to be a two year mission that was launched the week my 27 year old son was born. It’s still operational.
pls tell me that’s not American tv...

thank you...
Nice story!
It was just napping. Who wants to face into the Sun when it’s time for a snooze?
This thread could use a reset!

You folks might find this of interest. If not, at least I present this for documentation purposes. The thinner the atmosphere the higher the rpm. I love living parables:
Here are the first photos of the broken rotors.
Except for the top image (dated Jan. 25, Sol 1042), they are dated for Jan.23, Sol 1040. Even though the flight occurred on the 18th, the captions [for the Jan. 23 images] insist that,
"This was the date of Ingenuity's 72nd flight."
Taking the date at face value:
72 'Names' of G-d
The 3 verses of 72 letters each refer in sequence to the divine attributes of chesed, gevura, and tiferet. The three consecutive verses from Exodus 14:19-21 each contain 72 letters, an obviously rare phenomenon. The letters of these three verses can be arranged as 72 triplets of letters. But we are taught in Kabbala that if we reverse the order of the letters in the middle set, the 72 triplets become 72 "names" of G-d.

In the story of the exodus from Egypt, three consecutive verses describe G-d's power as manifest just before He split the Sea of Reeds, which the Jewish people passed through on dry land while the Egyptians were drowned...

That's why the date of the 23rd is a key detail. "The 3 verses of 72 letters each" were in the reading on that day:

13 Shevat, 5784Chumash Parshat Beshalach, 3rd Portion (Shemot (Exodus) 14:15-14:25)

As for the character traits of chesed (loving-kindness, TLC), gevura (strictness/severity), and tiferet (beauty), a related, integrated feature is their sums:
72 + 216 + 1081 respectively
= 1369 = 372
Which comes right back to the hovering of little Ingenuity over Jezero ("lake") crater:
1369 = "and a wind from God (Ruach Elohim) hovered upon the face of the waters" (Gen 1.2)
This wind from God has long been equated with the soul of the Messiah as a hovering dove (cf. Twitcher's point (star)), the soul which is known as the Yechida (= 37). As noted on that soul page, the date associated with the coming down of the Messianic soul is Tisha B'Av, which was the date of the launch of the Mars2020 mission (July 30, 2020), riding an Atlas V 541. Tisha B'Av was also the date of the splashdown of Apollo 11's command module Columbia, "dove".

Connected:
It's certainly well known that when Moses was given his assignment, God informed him of His simple but special WYSIWYG name (Moses had asked):
I AM WHO I AM, "Ehyeh asher Ehyeh".
So much analysis on that one already. A while back in considering its simple meaning (i.e. who God is), a question came to my mind: "What if the name is an acronym?" "Ehyeh" means what it means, but still, I like to ask these sorts of questions. Could get interesting.
As soon as I asked the question, an immediate match took place because it's nothing new at all, and based on a common construction pattern for acronyms:
The Love of YHWH, "Ahavat YHWH" [ืืืืช ืืืื].
The first two letters of each word form Ehyeh, ืืืื.
And thus by extention, "I AM WHO I AM" [ืืืื ืืฉืจ ืืืื] expands to "the Love of YHWH that is the Love of YHWH", like this:
ืืืืช ืืืื ืืฉืจ ืืืืช ืืืื
Now if someone wants to complain that "you can't do that -- who does that", I did it anyway. Just because I made that up doesn't mean it's not true. There's no guesswork -- that little exercise merely points out the obvious. Ingenuity for the win.
At the time I figured it would be a good idea to record its numeric value: 1369
The beginning of Ingenuity's Hebrew Wikipedia page informs that her nickname is Ginny: "ืฉื ืืืื ื'ืื ื".
With a space added in, word is that the living name (Shem Chai) is in her: "ืฉื ืื ืื ".
Not much of a disguise. Definitely an alien:
