State Rep. Justin Humphrey introduced a bill on Tuesday that would ban furries from public schools across the state — and allow animal control to round up those who defy the proposed law.
“Students who purport to be an imaginary animal or animal species, or who engage in anthropomorphic behavior commonly referred to as furries at school shall not be allowed to participate in school curriculum or activities,” House Bill 3084 states.
The legislation would require parents or guardians to pick up their child from school. Otherwise, “animal control services shall be contacted to remove the student,” the bill states...
The proposed law would allow animal control to pick children up from school if their parents don’t.
“I don’t want to see some kid go into the bathroom in a litter box, in the kitty litter...
“If they’re gonna be animals. Let’s send them to the pound, let’s send them home. How do you teach a cat math?”
There are an estimated 250,000 people in the US who identify as “furries,” a subculture whose members enjoy dressing up as cartoonish animals, sometimes as a sexual fetish but more often as a fun escape.

LOL
I like that plan.
Heh.
or at least have them spayed or neutered.
“Our society has gone insane.”
Perhaps. I’m thinking these furries need to be taken to a PETA shelter where they kill 99% of the animals who go there.
It would seem fitting and respectful of the furry identity to let PETA put them down.
They are having their “anthrocon “ convention in Pittsburg in July. Ought to be quite a sight.
I was going to post “in before the Search Works”.
As I know this was posted this afternoon. Evidently the mods zotted that thread. Don’t know why.
The mods must have, I did a search before posting and the story wasn’t there.
It is a kind of funny story, in a silly way.
I thought so. No way to know why the other thread was pulled. Sometimes people post this Chat stuff in New/Activism.
That irritates the mods. I’ve seen them zot threads on that basis alone.
“furries” has multiple forms - those who just like to dress up like animals in costume. Strange hobby...
Those that want to role play as animals and not act human...beyond strange - mental illness.
Those that believe they are animals in spirit trapped in a human body - more severe mental illness.
And those that engage in it as a very bizarre sexual orientation / fetish...even more severe mental illness.
Me too! Finally a lawmaker trying to get something done. Send the young skulls full of mush to school and they not only don’t know what gender they are, they don’t know what species they are. LOL. Publik Screwals. Geez.
Glad to see Representative Humphrey concentrating on important matters
👍
My goodness. Why should anyone care what someone does at home?
Yes, it is inappropriate for children to go to school dressed as animals. But, otherwise, why is it anyone’s business if they are a furry?
He had a bill last year to require licenses to hunt for Bigfoot.
I think this is his dry sense of humor.
They have to dress up as a furry in the classroom to be taken to the pound.
I have noticed that actual adult cats do not meow at each other. They may hiss, growl or chatter, but meowing is simply baby talk between cats
Good. GET THEM OUT
I generally liked Mr. Rogers - except for that cat - most annoying character voice EVER.
