This is Gen Z's ultimate example.
Watch Video.

I understand your perspective. If we are Christian, how we address a particular situation is not always black and white. What I mean is that there may be times when we are called to lay down our life (choose one way) and other times to defend our life (choose another way). Consider Paul who when being persecuted by hateful Jews, he appealed to Rome for justice rather than give in to the will of his enemies. Bottom line: Christians need to seek guidance from the Word and Holy Spirit in all things. The Word (scripture) frequently offers opposing perspective and it requires discernment and a heart tuned to the Holy Spirit to 'hear' what the Lord is saying for particular situations.
Shalom!
If this young person cannot handle so simple a negotiation as being walked down the aisle on her wedding day, then she is in no way ready or fit for marriage, and is not about to enter into a true marriage, and both her parents have a morale obligation to (1) Communicate that fact to her, and (2) If they can’t successfully communicate that fact to her to withdraw their material support for what will be a sham marriage.
This is the one issue in this young woman that we’re aware of because she graciously posted her side of things in public social media. I’m sure that the parents are aware of the other 43 issues that we’re not a party to.
FYI...none of these are real. They are just trying to get shares
I said as much in a previous post. It seems too pat and to scripted. Her voice seemed too affectacious to be real...........but it could be real, but suspect...........
Wonderful and very thoughtful post (your #22). On those matters we agree completely!
Fake. Gen Z marrying? Ha.
I understand your perspective on family estrangement.
However there is a fallacious assumption foundational to the video and your argument.
A wedding is NOT the bride’s day.
The wedding is a celebration of family and friends about a rite of passage.
I’m voting FAKE as well.
Shayla is a wedding photographer. Here is her business site, specifically the ABOUT section...
https://shaylaherringtonphotography.com/about/
…where you’ll find this:
PROUD WIFE & MAMA
My lifelong dream has been to find my dream man and start a family. That dream has been fulfilled and I couldn’t be happier. Peep the photo of Dustin (husband) and Sawyer (cutest baby).”
Thus, either this is a waaay old TikTok OR she’s imitating one of her clients.
Either way, it’s bad for business.
He has already lost her.
Says the voice of experience.
Fake. Just trying to get clicks.
I agree. What is it with these people taking video of themselves spewing their stupid opinions and posting them out there for everybody to see? And her speech pattern is very annoying.
That poor fiancé. He needs to get out while he can.
That seems to be the general opinion.............
This is a rehearsed, scripted , edited production. Look at the cuts and flow of it. It’s shot exactly like a commercial. Fake.
WOW! She will regret this the rest of her life when she finally grows up. Whoever this poor guy is, he needs to RUN AWAY fast and far from this girl. She wants her dad to observe tradition while she spits in the face of tradition.
I walked my Daughter down the Aisle like the vast majority of Fathers do.
Best of luck to the groom.
It seems a bit overdone....................
She calls out the year 2023 in the video............
The general opinion here is that this is a fake video..............
“And hope with time the daughter grows up.“
What makes you think someone who’s bowed down to and kow towed to is ever going to grow up. But it’s moot really because this vid is an obvious fake on the face of it. They’re trying to push buttons.
