Jodie Foster took a humorous jab at Gen Z during a recent interview with The Guardian, saying they’re especially annoying to work with. Gen Z, the generation directly proceeding millennials, comprises those born after 1996 and through 2010.
“They’re really annoying, especially in the workplace,” Foster told the publication. “They’re like, ‘Nah, I’m not feeling it today, I’m gonna come in at 10:30 a.m.’ Or, like, in emails, I’ll tell them this is all grammatically incorrect, did you not check your spelling? And they’re like, ‘Why would I do that, isn’t that kind of limiting?’”
This isn’t to say that Foster feels she’s above Gen Z. Quite the contrary, as the Oscar winner has made it a mission to reach out to young actors coming up in the industry. Foster herself started her acting career as a child. She recently made an effort to contact “The Last of Us” Emmy nominee Bella Ramsey and asked the young performer to introduce her at an event in Hollywood.
Box Office: ‘Wonka’ Triumphs Again as Jason Blum and James Wan’s ‘Night Swim’ Debuts to $12 Million “They need to learn how to relax, how to not think about it so much, how to come up with something that’s theirs,” Foster added when asked about her advice to young actors these days. “I can help them find that, which is so much more fun than being, with all the pressure behind it, the protagonist of the story.”
Foster has been making the press rounds for months now as an Oscar contender for her supporting role in Netflix’s swimming drama “Nyad.” She’s also leading the fourth season of HBO’s “True Detective,” which launches Jan. 14. During an interview with Elle magazine at the end of last year, Foster went viral for expressing her criticisms with superhero movies.
“It’s a phase. It’s a phase that’s lasted a little too long for me, but it’s a phase, and I’ve seen so many different phases,” Foster said. “Hopefully people will be sick of it soon. The good ones — like ‘Iron Man,’ ‘Black Panther,’ ‘The Matrix’ — I marvel at those movies, and I’m swept up in the entertainment of it, but that’s not why I became an actor. And those movies don’t change my life. Hopefully there’ll be room for everything else.”
Foster’s performance in “Nyad” has earned her a Golden Globe and a Critic’s Choice Award nomination for supporting actress.

preceding?
In Hollywood, hordes of people in the lower ranks -- production assistants, personal assistants, administrative assistants, interns -- are leftist, yet work extremely long hours for slaves wages.
So don't kid yourself. Many leftists work long and hard if they really want something.
I heard a report earlier today that said companies are more apt to hire older people over gen z because gen z doesn’t have work ethic, doesn’t know how to establish eye contact, they ask for ridiculous salaries, expect to be promoted after only a year, only want part time work and they don’t know how to dress appropriately.
She looks like an aging lesbian. Oh, wait...
All the millions the taxpayers have to shell out for education and this is what they get. Worthless, lazy and selfish are NOT good traits but that’s all they seemed to have learned in school.
It looks like her ‘transition’ is complete.
I get the impression that Jodie Foster would be a very good instructor for acting in professional theater, where the focus is learning the character, your wardrobe, your lines and your position marks on the stage. In other words, looking for acceptable results, not just acceptable motivations.
She is most likely a Lib, but somehow, I don’t think she’s the kind of Lib who is afraid of an in context disagreement or the occassional argument.
This article must’ve been written by a Gen Zer.
Just what does it take to impress her?
I agree. I worked in Hollywood for many years.
Lezbo says what?
Until the creepy landlord caught on, played by Charlie Sheens' dad Martin in a role that made you hope Colonel Kurtz got him first in "Apocalypse Now".
They went over John Hinkley trying to assassinate President Reagan for her favor briefly which devastated her at the time but she marched on to graduate top of her class regardless.
She gracefully lauded Martin Scorcese for her role in "Taxi Driver", saying her regard for acting was re-ignited. I think she learned what real acting was dealing with a dirt-bag like DeNiro but whatever - she picked up a good check and a great career advancement.
An Oscar for "The Accused" where her spot-on depiction of a rape victim is so right on you don't want to see it again. But I do still love pinball tables.
"Silence of the Lambs".
And then she went very quiet with art house and low budget projects for the most part with the occasional big budget gig in a winner. Received a LOT of flack for sticking by good friend Mel Gibson during and after his castigation when he went on a drunken rant railing against the Jewish influence in Hollywood.
She financed and finagled enough to get him back in good graces with that crowd over time and good thing, as he made "Apocalypto", "The Passion of the Christ" and "Hacksaw Ridge" after that, solidifying how much his talent and vision outweighs any ten of their upstarts.
And now, after getting over her lesbian thing (we're told) and re-interested in acting she's a kick-ass police chief in the latest "True Detective" season. At 61 years old.
Like wrestler Steve Austin used to say, I hope she "stomps a mudhole in it and walks it dry"
I'd still hit it but Laz, as always, has the ultimate opinion.
Interesting bio on her. She doesn’t sound like a super-woke tool.
New respect for her. And sure, I’d hit it... but then again, I might not. She’s lesbian, she might not like it.
The first time I can recall seeing Jodie Foster was in an episode of Gunsmoke in 1969 or so, she is a couple years younger than me. She is a fine actress, yes she lives an alternative life style. Yet she keeps it on the down low and not shoving her gay lifestyle in others face. As it should be.
I agree with foster. When they’re not taking selfies and falling off of cliffs, they annoying people.
John Hinkley dodged a bullet. While Ms. Foster used to look hot, now she looks like a haggard old ... what’s the word I am trying to remember? ... Oh, yes, lesbian.
LoL! Benjamin Franklin was especially praiseworthy of elderly women. You never know what’s in that box of Cracker Jacks now days - it might be a dude so keep your shoes on until you know for sure.
“Didn’t age well.”
I liked her better in “Bugsy Malone”.
Perhaps the Grand Prize went to one letter that went like this…
Dear David:
I understand you may be coming up for parole soon. I wanted you to know, that after a lot of prayer and soul-seeking, I decided to forgive you.
I understand that it wasn’t really your fault that you were confused, and maybe even obsessed. Forgiveness seems right.
If you are released, I wanted you to know there are no hard feelings.
Sincerely,
President Ronald Reagan
PS: did I tell you Walter Mondale is f***ing Jodi Foster?
“I admire her for her art. But it ends there.”

I admire her for ignoring the Hollywood mob and standing by her colleague and friend Mel Gibson. That showed me character and character counts with me.
As for her personal life… I just don’t care.
