Former President Donald Trump marked the third anniversary of the January 6 Capitol attack by again demanding that the 'hostages' be released by President Joe Biden.
Trump brought up January 6 at both of his Iowa appearances Saturday on the campaign trail, saying at one of them that participants in the riot three years ago acted 'patriotically and peacefully.'
He also continued to go after former Rep. Liz Cheney, one of only two Republicans to participate in the House of Representatives' probe after the attack.
After a nearly three and half hour delay - due to a malfunctioning small private plane Trump's team had rented to get the ex-president shuttled between two smaller Iowa towns ahead of the January 15 caucuses - Trump took the stage Saturday night in Clinton, Iowa.
Trump charged Biden and the Democrats with turning the country into 'h***' and then added, 'you know what they outta do? They outta release the J6 hostages. They've suffered enough.'
'They outta release them,' the ex-president and 2024 GOP hopeful continued. 'I call them hostages, some people call them prisoners, I call them hostages.'
'Release the J6 hostages, Joe!' Trump said, his voice getting louder. 'Release them Joe! You can do them real easy, Joe.'
Biden kicked off his year of 2024 campaigning by delivering a speech Friday from Valley Forge, Pennsylvania in which he said 'we nearly lost America' on January 6.
He also called Trump 'sick' and a 'loser' during his remarks.
Congress had gathered in the Capitol Building to count Electoral College votes on January 6, 2021 and certify Biden's win when droves of Trump supporters rioted, broke into the building, injured police officers, called for the hanging of Vice President Mike Pence and stalled the proceedings for hours.

The GOP should makr a vigorous effort to identify each current J6 prisoner and introduce theze people to the American public. For most folks, the J6 political prisoners don’t even exist except in theory. This is what the Dems would have begun doing over two years ago.
Force the public to acknowledge who these people are and how some of them are being tortured or neglected.
They’re not releasing them, instead they are looking to round up more.
Save for a handful of republicans on the hill, the rest of them are feckless. I wouldn't trust any of these gutless wonders who've been silent as they witness government gestapo imprisonments and murder of j6 protesters. Worst than being silent in the face of evil, there are some republicans like Graham who have applauded the J6 government atrocities. Lord knows, we need to see justice and accountability against those who've trampled the Constitution and particularly the Bill of Rights!
