No mention of his role in “The Man from UNCLE”. Well his name was David Soul.

I loved him in this role and I loved the show. Although Bobby Sherman got my heart throbbing, I liked Soul’s character enough, and his name, that I named my first son Joshua.

Some people have longevity in their genes, so maybe the ones who don’t retire are concerned because of that. My husband’s father died at 92, even though he was a smoker into his later years. His mother, at 95, is still going strong. It’s something he has to consider. Three uncles on his mom’s side died in their 90’s, at 93, 96, and 97. I’d say he might be doing the right thing by waiting a few more years to retire. He’s in his early 60’s. Good thing he enjoys his work so much.

80 years old. I know a number of people saying they can’t retire because their money will run out before they are 95.
What do these people do in the many years where they have no TV or movie credits? A lot of time to fill.

His best role was in the old Salem’s Lot. Still a good watch after all these years.

David Soul had an appearance in a 1967 episode of Star Trek. It was kinda funny to watch his character “Makora” learn about the “Birds and the Bees.”

I have a neighbor whose parents both lived until almost 100. He claims his wife keeps asking him if she has to put up with him that long.
