The CDC has struggled to measure and decide who is fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Most recently, it includes people who have received the 2023/2024 updates from Pfizer-BioNTech, Moderna, or Novavax. Dosage rules vary by age. With this as their yardstick, 33% of Americans qualify as vaccinated as of December 10, the latest period for which data are available. Arizona has a rate that is only about half of that.
Medical experts have become alarmed that a new variant has spread quickly in the US. The JN. 1 Omnicro sub-variant accounts for over 40% of cases. The WHO describes it as a "variant of interest" because it is growing rapidly. However, it does not appear to be a higher risk to health than earlier variants. Its rapid spread will affect the number of people who are ill over the holidays.
According to the U.S. Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, not all states have the same vaccination rates. Most states with low rates are in the South. Arizona stands out as having the lowest rate at 16.1%. Texas follows it at 18.7%, Arkansas’ rate at 22%, Alabama at 22.3%, South Carolina at 22.9%, Tennessee at 24.4% and Mississippi at 25.5%.
At the far end of the spectrum, the vaccination rate in North Dakota is 58.8%, South Dakota at 58.3%, and 57.7%.

A wise thing to do is never believe or listen to much coming out of the CDC. It is particularly bad under the current regime.

Yes, mysteriously absent. And I just love the political affiliation reason for this rates. I remember when it first came out it was the “Trump Vaccination” and liberals did not want to get it. Depite attempts to throw the covid lies down the memory hole, I still remember it all.

“Fully” is the key. If you had the two shots in 2021, and the booster in 2022, you are not fully vaccinated because you haven’t had the 2023 booster for the new variant.
But if you’ve had the previous shots, the 2023 variant will probably not hit you very hard, unless you’re old and feeble. That’s why people aren’t too worried.

South Dakota?
Well, now they can say that any spike in Covid in Arizona is due to all those unvaxxed conservatives. It will have nothing to do with all the unvaxxed illegal aliens streaming across the border. In addition, they will probably call any illness a Covid variant (new and improved!) also while ignoring those coming across the border. Meanwhile, diseases previously eradicated in the U.S. are making a comeback. Those will also be blamed on the right-wing conspiracists who believe that vaccines cause autism, etc.

Their fear is the lack of selling shots. Down to 33%. Oh, the huge bonus losses.

Yep, and you can bet that if the death or even hospitalization rates were higher in the low vax states, the PTB would be screaming it from the rooftops.

We split time between the San Francisco Bay Area and North Idaho, so I experienced the absolute worst response in CA (total insane tyranny) and the best response in Idaho (where life pretty much went on as normal).
When you look at all the metrics (cases, hospitalizations, ICU admissions, deaths, etc) you find that there is NO difference in outcomes between the two states.
According to CDC, only 15% over 18 are pure-bloods.
Only 7% over 65 are pure-bloods.
They don’t have a break-down for over 70 pure-bloods like me, but I imagine the percent shrinks exponentially as more and more of the “cared for” population is included, who have little or no say in “health care” decisions.
For example, I doubt anyone in an old age home or being cared for by loved ones is in much of a position to decline shots or medication - even if they wanted to.
Still, I had no idea the brainwashing was THAT successful!
