Two men accused of racing on a public highway in western Pennsylvania that left a teenage girl dead, are facing charges in a crash involving a school van. The school van did not kill the teenage girl.
This is why some people should not be allowed to drive.
I see this death as premeditated murder.
Throw the proverbial book at them.
Two guys with tiny units trying to prove how manly they were
Huge problem where I life in So Cal - there is a long, straight roadway with few lights near where I live - that are mostly green overnight - so idiots get on there and race at speeds of up to 100 mph. These are not professional - or even very good - drivers.
In 2021, three teens were killed when a speeding car t-boned their car and split it in half, a fourth was critically injured:
“A 19-year-old and an unidentified 17-year-old were both arrested on suspicion of three counts each of murder and one count each of reckless driving.”
Something similar happened around here a few years ago, but it wasn’t racing, it was just joyriding. A moron in a modded Mustang rear ended a small SUV and killed a little girl and put her grandmother in a wheelchair for the rest of her life. This was the day before Thanksgiving. The perp spent years in jail, but should have been executed.
The same applies to the guy in the article.
Both of these guys are practically middle-aged. I guess they never outgrew being 16 year-olds.
A tragedy to be sure, but I can't keep from wondering if seatbelts would've helped.
Speaking as a very much retired track racer, I want to tell these fools that “no matter how fast you THINK you’re going on the streets, you’re not going very fast. Because if you ARE going racing speeds, your lifespan is about five minutes”. These idiots just proved it, at the cost of innocent lives. I hope the perp’s injuries are painfully disabling for the rest of his useless life.
Guarantee you that both of these knuckle-draggers thought they had the right of way.
