Wait ‘til they learn that American Jews enjoy their Christmas dinner at a Chinese restaurant. It’s all good.
I've never been to Japan, but I would consider any Japanese restaurant over here to be superior to KFC. I used to love KFC, but it seems they changed the recipe, perhaps to make it more "environmentally friendly." In any case, it doesn't taste nearly as good as it used to, and even though there's a KFC a block from where I live, I haven't eaten there in years.
Korean fried chicken eateries are springing up in my neck of the woods. Their chicken is really good, but it’s somewhat expensive.
Halloween's red and orange colors kind of mirror the beauty fall colors in Japan, so it's a natural. They don't have trick or treat here, but parents will get together and organize maybe a hide and seek candy event for kids in a local park.
And Japan can thank American brands like KFC and McDonald's for getting the ball rolling. Check out some of the Japanese Christmas and Halloween advertising on Google Images.
In the food franchise category, you can count on the Japanese to go their own way and often improve on the food items being sold. Back when I lived in Georgia 1.5 years ago, my wife and I visited a KFC and were blown away by the extreme saltiness and hot-hot spice flavor of the chicken and fries. Terrible. We promised to never go back.
But in Japan, we might consider going to a KFC with the confidence that some normal flavored chicken and fries are on the menu here.
In an accompanying story to the posted here, I noticed a good story with pics on the Christmas illuminations in Tokyo -- a key tourist attraction.
The YouTube channel is called Crazy Korean Cooking.
Thx for the link.......the light shows were incredible.
I did skip over to the wonderful “best” food venues.....awesome.
As for KFC......Japanese culture is so adaptable.
That there's coffee-spittin' funny.
My late dad came to refer to it as Kentucky Fried Cat because the pieces he’d pull from the bucket had become unrecognizable.
It used to be really good.
Decades ago.
I wonder if Japanese Cat is better than the American version...
Yes and when the children ee small we served birthday cake for dessert on Christmas Day. With ice cream. However an entire country?
Interesting that the article only mentions cake....not birthday cake.
I recall years ago seeing pictures of Japanese surrounding a traditional western birthday cake.
Yep. Chinese and a film in NYC . Not anymore.
There is no place on earth I would rather visit than Japan. I would want to tour the entire country. I understand that there is a small town in the northern area that is said to have some of the clearest night skies. One can see many many stars.
Oops, I stand corrected. I used Japanese in the search, but didn’t notice that the result was Korean. I’ve watched enough Asian dramas to be able to hear the difference in languages but even missed that obvious clue. My apologies for the misdirection!
Still a good video. Thanks for bringing it to our attention!
Oh Japan.
