I hope you have time to watch this little videoclip; it warms my holiday spirit and maybe you'll enjoy it too.
A shopkeeper made a video of his 'honesty experiment' .
@Savage: Honesty experiment on YOUTUBE (half a minute long)
If you'd rather look at a few pics to see what it's about, here ya go!
The shopkeeper hides a phone in a candy display on the counter. The young man picks up candy, finds the phone and hands it to the shopkeeper with a look of concern, saying someone forgot it. When asked, he says the phone is not his.
The Shopkeeper slips the phone into a shopping bag behind the counter. The boy tries to pay for candy and a drink and the Shopkeeper declines payment, saying it's 'On The House'. The man puts the boy's beverage and candy in the bag with the phone, out of site of the boy. The boy is sweetly appreciative of the gratis candy and drink.
The boy walks out of the shop and still within sight of the store security camera, he reaches in the bag and finds the phone. He runs back to tell the keeper and tries to hand it to him, but is instead told it was just an 'honesty experiment' and he can keep the phone.
The boy cries with gratitude.
What a sweetheart that young man is! His honesty and gratitude helped brighten my Christmas.
This video clip gave me a sweet slice of "Good will toward all men."
What a great kid.
Must have had both parents raise him.
When our son was about 8, he found a wallet full of cash on the street (about $500) and no ID in the wallet. He brought it home and asked my wife and I what he should do. We, in turn, asked him what HE thought he should do. He thought for a minute and said somebody would be really missing that money and we should turn it into the police. So we went down to the police station and he turned it in with his report.
Nobody claimed it in 30 days and he got to keep the money!
It was so weird that nobody claimed it. Maybe drug money.
In before the cynics who say this was fake.
God bless all in the vid.
Thanks for posting
That’s a good guess about it maybe was drug money.
My little story of a good guy is my oldest son, when we were in NYC over the holidays one year. He was maybe 9 or 10. He found a $20 bill as we exited our hotel. He was so concerned, as your son was. But he understood there was no way we would find the rightful owner. We told him he could decide. When we got to St. Patrick’s Cathedral, maybe a half mile away, he ran up the steps to put it in the donation box.
This was the same kid that was so concerned about the homeless that hung out at the off ramps of the highway. I tried to tell him that they didn’t really want food many times; they wanted money for booze or drugs. To help him understand, we kept brown bags full of small jars/cans of peanut butter, jelly, tuna, and canned fruit, water and juice in our trunk. A loaf of bread was always there. If he saw someone, we would hand them a bag before driving away. Many of them cursed at us for not giving them money. He learned that they aren’t always who they say they are. A hungry person would be grateful for what we gave them.
Love stories like this!
I’m not a believer in these videos. They are nearly all the time “productions”. Fakes. They’re constructing a video used to garner views which makes them tons of money. That’s what this.
That’s the very sad downside to internet videos, everybody having a camera in his pocket, and the desperate need for fame, clicks, and “going viral.” We are all jaded and bitterly cynical.
Fake?
P
Thank you for this uplifting story. Love it.
My kid cries when I take the phone away!
wonderful, thanx
