A new poll from the Wall Street Journal says if Nikki Haley wins the Republican nomination, she would beat President Biden by 14 points. Donald Trump is four ahead, and Ron DeSantis ties Mr. Biden.
The poll is simply a snapshot but demonstrates a few important things. Because Ambassador Haley is not controversial, she polls well among non-political Americans who reject Mr. Trump's demeanor and don't really care how he governs.
But committed Republicans continue to overwhelmingly back the former president because they perceive Ms. Haley as an establishment politician who will not aggressively challenge the ingrained liberal system in Washington.
There are far more casual voters in this country than engaged Americans. If you add up all the folks who watch television news, it is a small segment of the population. On cable news in prime time, you're paid millions if you can get just two million viewers to watch you.
Chances are Ambassador Haley will not get the nomination, and since Trump does not like her, she will not run as his second.
But Ms. Haley would absolutely trounce Joe Biden next November. And both Biden and Trump should figure out why.
See you this evening for the No Spin News.
Gee. Bill died?
I agree. If we abandon the natural born citizenship clause now, it will be exploited by others who will come after Mrs. Haley who may not share her political convictions and expose us all to the greatest threat to the Republic the founders and framers of the US Constitution knew well, feared most, and warned us all against: The loss of our freedoms and liberties not from an external military threat but from political subversion from within our own political system.
When you stop and realize virtually all executive power in this country is held by one person as the commander-in-chief of all of this nation’s armed forces and also take into account the vast increase in speed and destructive firepower modern weapons now have over their 18th Century counterparts, you begin to realize just how important this requirement has become in today’s turbulently shrinking world, and how important it is to apply the narrowest of definitions to the “natural born citizen” requirement rather than standing on the threshold of abandoning it altogether — forever.
There is no absolute, failsafe, clause or provision that will protect the Republic from just such a fate, but if we weaken this provision now that fate will come sooner rather than later, and future generations of Americans will look back at this time and call out our names, giving us the blame.
They just pound us with stories about this loser hoping it generates some real popularity. Nobody in their right mind would support this deep state whore. It’s the GOP time proven trick of nominating a candidate despised by the rank and file to guarantee another loss.
BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
The people pushing this are the same folks who told you Desantis could win back in Jan..
Same old nonsense....
NIKKI WANTS TO BRING PALESTINIANS TO YOUR TOWN... period.
She’s not going to be the nominee and she sure as hell will never be the President.. but the globalist/uniparty/nevertrumpers will push any lie to try to stop Trump.
It's not necessarily to "guarantee a loss".
It's to guarantee a win for the "donor community", in the sense that, if the candidates are Bush and Kerry, or Obama and Romney, from the "donor" perspective, it doesn't matter who wins.
A Haley-Newsom race (which is what they want, and probably will get), leads to victory for the cloud people, however it turns out.
I don’t think it has to be a woman; I just think it will be.
My post requires one to use their imagination...at least a bit.
Haha! Mmkay. I tend to take things literally, but I get it.
Haley’s advantage democrat donors and no bogus court trials.
Haley-Newsom? After Newsom making it plain that he wasn’t going to be the Dems’ nominee during the “debate” with DeSantis?
I have believed Newsom/Whitmer is the ticket for a year, and him denying it, since he is a chronic and habitual liar, makes me more certain of it than ever.
That's pure speculation. Accurate polls begin the question, "If the election were held today . . ." Why? Because in December, speculations and fine-grained statistics about political conditions 11 months from now tend to be embarrassing to their creators.
