Filling out my online jury summons. Not making this up. To serve as a juror with King County Superior Court you must be: 18+ years old; U.S. citizen; King County resident; Able to communicate in English or Sign Language; """If you have been convicted of a felony you are unable to serve as a juror if you are currently incarcerated."""
And your point is?
That’s amazing considering it’s Seattle.
“If you have been convicted of a felony you are unable to serve as a juror if you are currently incarcerated.”
** PS - Come on Seattle. We’re lowering our standards to try and meet your needs
If you are not laughing out loud at that last sentence, I have no idea what to say to you.
Are you a Furman graduate?
That might explain the problem.
All those requirements.
And not one of them is necessary to vote in a public election.
Bizarro World.
Just tell the judge, on your application, that you will hang them all and let God sort it out.
Though I would never believe a prosecutor, you are not wrong.
I had a work colleague who wanted to get out of jury duty and I suggested he wear a T-shirt with:
“My nickname is Maximum.”
i never want to be judged by 12 people not smart enough to get out of jury duty...
Just ignore it like they do down here in SoCal.
Ask lots of questions during voir dire and they will have you out of there and on your way by the afternoon.
Ask about jury nullification. You’ll be gone pronto.
Sounds just like mine in kern county calif
If an incarcerated felon is on trial how will he get a jury of his peers? I think Seattle should run buses of hardened felons from the prison to the jury box every day.
Works every time. I call it "using the n-word".
If you ignore a jury summons in CT, You can’t re-register your car upon expiration.
Or become a Trump donor.
Bet you’ll never get another summons...
Just a hunch.
Or wear your “Fully informed Jury” T-shirt :-)
The one with the image of John Jay on the front...
Our first Chief Justice, John Jay, told jurors: “You have a right to take upon yourselves to judge both the facts and the law.”
