I am sure there are FREEPERS who, in the course of their work, have had to do background checks. Thank you.
DOES ANYONE, Obviously did not review before posting!!!
You talking about firearms background checks or employment checks?
You’ll have to be more specific. There are numerous types of “background checks.”
For employment. Sorry.
Only costs me about a half second.
If I don’t see any patriots behind the communist, I fire.
Teachers use Webchk for about 30$. I have a more private source for about 20$, but you can’t get it.
A medium one nationwide for any criminal background, credit check and other basic information is about $300. Or rather was about $300 but that was a few years ago. Just a credit check used to be around fifty.
If you want worldwide at least $500 and it will be spotty.
If you are checking out a potential employee go with the nationwide criminal. If it is a potential spouse for you or relative go to a real detective agency. It will be about a thousand but this is one time you do not want to be cheap.
Just Google employment background check.
Lots of online companies. Cost generally under $100 for a simple one.
I assume you’re not doing the level of checking the feds do for a top secret security clearance. That’s more.
I know there are financial and criminal background checks. Some cover the state you reside while others cover nationwide and more expensive. Best of luck.
Its a phone call from the trooper in the field to his dispatch and typing the info into the NLETs computer database and, whiz, bang, you get an answer usually in less than 5 minutes.
My wife did a background check on me before we met in person. When she told me that, I said I’m sure she had a lot of questions and would be more than happy to answer them. I answered every single one of them without hesitation and even brought up a few other bits of information. I think she a bit surprised at my complete openness and honesty.
Depends on what you want, and where you want it for.
Criminal. Credit. Sex offender. Driving. Drug.
State. National.
But for what it gives you, it’s really pretty cheap and comprehensive. Like $100 total per person for everything, give or take. Less if you can bring them some quantity business.
There are doubtless several entities in your area who will do them. Call them and talk. Many probably have a price menu on a website.
Hi.
Private citizens can do pretty good background checks on a subject just knowing some pubic info (property taxes etc).
There are also websites you can pay a fee (if no SSN it costs more for the search).
Dicks (P. I., Gum shoes) will charge about $500 for the basics.
Accurint, credit reporting agency, criminal history etc.
Easy to find a person and get their profile.
Hope that helps.

If you are referring to “clearance” background checks, this article might be of some assistance:
The company I used to work for, would only accept nationally recognized firms as there are a lot of sketchy “background check” companies. We hired a lot of contractors and for one, the FBI showed up to take him into custody a couple months after he was hired so that drove us to use nationally accredited companies. Sorry, I don’t have a list of who to trust/avoid though.
“ I think she a bit surprised at my complete openness and honesty.“
Hmm, what kind of crowd did she hang out with prior to meeting you that she was surprised at honesty? 😏
J/k. 😁
Last time I ran one for an employee it was around $50.
