North Carolina elected officials agreed this year to expand Medicaid, which will provide the government-funded health insurance to adults ages 19 to 64 who make too much money to receive traditional Medicaid but generally not enough to benefit from public subsidies available for private health insurance. The federal government will pay 90% of the cost, as stipulated under the 2010 Affordable Care Act.
More than 600,000 North Carolinians are ultimately expected to qualify, with roughly half to be automatically enrolled as of Friday.
That means theyโll be able to get annual checkups, prescription drugs and other services with little or no out-of-pocket expenses.
How many are illegals??
20 But the government types believe the solution is to help people get more money for medical costs.
30 GOTO 10
Yeah, we keep seeing ads where folks are allegedly finding full coverage, dental, eye care zero copay for $17-$42/ month! Somebody ๐๐จ๐ฉ somebody!
The PPACA has subsidies of up to 98%.
I thought that was all taken care of by ObozoCare. Direct then to the Healthcare Marketplace, It’s in Spanish too.
EC
Obamacare only pays for 90% plus a 5% incentive for the states to expand Medicaid.
While OBamacare will always(for now) pay 90%, the 5% incentive goes away in 2 years and the state will have to cover it.
The Democrat governor of NC, Roy Cooper has been pushing Medicaid expansion for seven years. The Republican majority in the state legislature finally caved to him this year. Once again, under the pressure of Democrat politicians, social justice warriors, and the media the Republicans gave the Democrats a big win and saddle the productive taxpayers of the state with paying for another entitlement forever.
Another bell that will never be unrung. Somehow, "Republican" pols don't understand that simple concept.
