You just don't travel in the "right" circles/know people who read and are making judgement calls, for EVERYONE, on your own knowledge.
Is reading books way down from where it once was? yes, it probably is and I'm NOT arguing about that. But there are still people of ALL ages who DO read and yes, hard copy books. Are they all reading good stuff? I doubt that, but some still do and you'd be amazed at the ages I'm talking about.
Reality is far larger and more diverse than what you imagine it to be. And most of what you imagine is going to happen, is for the worse; not the better.

The greatest generation allowed communists to take over the schools and turn many of their children into commies. No so great. They also sent us on the road to massive deficeit spending also not so great. Millions of boomers served creditably in Vietnam. And I would guess that the vast majority of Trump supporters and J6 prisoners are boomers also.
But I guess that being born in a specific time period makes you “great” and in a different time period makes you a POS.
The entire nation did it’s part in WW2. Not just the 20 year olds.

I am finishing up raising the granddaughters by myself. 19 YO (U. of Idaho full ticket scholarship and also works on campus); 17 YO works on high school campus and is in accelerated college program; 16 YO does an amazing amount of babysitting). No problems at all (so far, knock, knock). All very much social conservatives and get involved in Christian learning activities with no prompting by me.
