Hahahahahahaha...we were talking about Christmas movies the other day, and I cheerily opined “Die Hard is a Christmas movie!” and someone said “Bruce Willis said it is NOT a Christmas movie!”
I say: I don’t care. We all say it is...:)

Yes. It is a Christmas movie.
It is about family winning over greed.
About a good man who made a mistake leaning to forgive himself.
About a small child getting their Christmas wish.
About a news critter getting punched in the face.
And nothing brings a warm glow of happiness like a purveyor of discord getting socked in the kisser.

Die Hard has a lot of laughs, so that makes it Christmasy. Plus the hero wins.

It’s certainly a fun movie - but at the same time, it’s a shame that the old movies get overlooked and lost to generations. And that these sorts of things become the new traditions. The actual purpose of “a CHRISTmas season” is lost - and is background lights and decorations.
“A Christmas Carol” with Alistair Sim (?) - great version - probably my favorite - George C. Scott’s was very good as well
I remember when Casey Kasem was apoplectic over “The Little Drummer Boy” - ridiculous
On a side note, I remember when Sunday morning was filled with Christian pastors preaching on TV - now it seems like it’s 10% of what it once was (in post-Christian America - thanks Manchurian Candidate spirit-of-antichrist Barack Hussein Obama for pushing that as well)
(yes, I liked the next two DH movies though, as well)
