It would be pretty cool to have access to the balances in the Zelenskyyyy and Bidenskyyyyy bank accounts once this Ukraine fiasco is over. The number one reason for this Ukraine/Ruzzki fiasco was to distract the ignorant here in this country from the invasion of sewage flowing into America. And you can take that to the bank.

I think we have a clue where this American taxpayer $$ is going.
I hated being in Vietnam. The place really sucked.
I knew a lot of those guys, they were mostly cowardly fellows who wanted to avoid serving in the military and were almost universally smug about it at the time.
A lot of them became pretenders when they got older and they realized they had missed a part of the male expression of serving in the military, they started lying to chicks in the night clubs and bars.

I think I saw on here the other day that Russia hasn’t even fully mobilized yet. They’re kind of half-assing it.
How sad. I have an idea. The phony freeper Uke Intel propagandists can all sign up. As dedicated as they are I’m surprised they haven’t already. It is incumbent on all who see Russia as an existential threat to pick up a rifle and proceed to the front.
When there are no more warriors, all that’s left becomes slaves.

Most people would need two things to feel good about going into a war, i.e. a decent cause and a decent chance to win. Neither Vietnam nor Ukraine had/has either of the two.
And there is another consideration that seems obvious to me:
There needs to be a minimum set of conditions for ever using draftees in combat, which to me would amount to a full declaration of war by the US Senate and a full national commitment to destroy some enemy in the most efficient manner, and we never had that for Vietnam either.
The idea of telling the boy next door that he has any kind of a patriotic duty to go into harms way for some kind of a geopolitical game strikes me as heinous.
“Ukrainians” don’t want to be killed by “Russians,” but “Russians” love to be killed by “Ukrainians.” So far, 300,000 “Russians” have had their desire fulfilled.
It was horrific for many.
I had a friend in college whose father was captured and paraded through villages in a cage.
People stabbed him with sharp sticks and threw boiling water on him… before he went to a POW camp.
It was useless.
We can’t police or provide military protection to the world.

We lost ~50,000 good Americans.
True, but a lot of CSS was badly abused by our modern idiot generals. Running those convoys down unsecured MSRs for YEARS and watching them get continuously blasted by IEDs should have landed those generals in prison.
No OV-10s watching those roads at night, no snipers and recon teams assassinating bomb planters. The effort to secure those roads was a poor joke.
And then of course, their rampant abuse of Special Forces as Infantry was insane as well.
That platoon of SEALS killed in the helo. They send out a very weak infantry force down a road. Refuse to give them arty or CAS when his but instead send a flying clown car packed with SEALS to act as a supernumerary react force.
That was the brilliant generalship. Refuse to use our arty and air and tech... but instead make every fight an infantry rifle fight.
But CSS people were flat out abused. I was appalled to watch those red ball express convoys go month after month down those unsecure routes. Imagine what WWII generals would have done to secure those routes.

That’s effed up. In retrospect, Vietnam might not have ever been a place we could nail down without invading the north, sinking Russian and Chinese cargo ships etc.
But it was a good cause.
