On 25 March, 1969, Judy Garland took to the stage at the Falkoner Center in Copenhagen. As she reached the crescendo of Over the Rainbow – the song which made her a global star aged just 17 – it was unknown to the audience that they were watching her final live performance. Four months later, 47 year-old Garland was found dead in Chelsea, London, after accidentally overdosing on the drugs she had self-medicated with since childhood. One of the headlines would read: “Judy’s voice stilled. The rainbow is gone.

Well she was a gay icon, time to dump her in the conservative memory hole, even when she had a beautiful voice, and time to cancel according to conservative radicals.
RIP Judy.

As far as I know, she never promoted perverted stuff in her shows, movies or records. Her talent was amazing, singing of course, but her acting (see her in “Meet Me in St. Louis”) and dancing (easily keeping up with Fred Astaire in “Easter Parade”, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=izSCwP_4YGU ). A professional’s professional.
A tragic life, easily predicted by her upbringing.

You have become a stalker and are carrying grudges from thread to thread, pinging me to threads I’m not on to start arguments, and not making any sense in any of it and for no known reason.

That WAS Ethel Merman!...
But in the movie they said he was a man suffering from delusions of being Ethel Meman. Very convincing, I admit...

Remember she was brought up and found employment via the studio. Even Shirley Temple mentioned some of the meetings she had with studio executives. Luckily her mom guided her through that mine field.

That headline is an illustration of a logical fallacy.
However, we can answer the question by referring to the article:
Because she killed herself.
