They were shooting for 500 mg of sodium a day. Even normal people generally lost mm of Hg off their systolic.

Do note 500 mg puts you at a place where it can be easier to get dehydrated. Thus helps stop high blood pressure damage, but it still does not address the root cause behind why you have high blood pressure, in the first place.

These people eat enough salt that they can REDUCE their intake by a teaspoon?

Unless I’m eating processed foods, I doubt I even consume that much!

Have you ever eaten a hard boiled egg without salt?

Salting you food with, and cooking with a combo that is 50% each of sodium and potassium chlorides would be a simple solution. Potassium cancels out sodium’s effects. Cancels out its nature to contract tissues.

I take sodium ascorbate (form of vitamin C) every day. This type of sodium does not stay in your system. You can use for salting your foods such as scrambled eggs, hamburgers, steak etc.

Most people are wildly deficient in salt.

Use potassium as a salt substitute..
Make your own...
Wood fire ash has potassium...bake some potatoes in the ash ...cut open when done and slather with butter and cream cheese.

I find that lowering *sugar* lowers BP more than salt.

If BP is actually lowered, that would be very dangerous to big pharma profits.

This is from Dr. Ken Berry, the carnivore/keto doc on YouTube.

Salt liberally
Use real salt that’s protected from ocean pollution and contaminants.

Do not be afraid of salt. When you cut carbs, your body will flush sodium and other electrolytes.

Salting liberally will help stave off carbohydrate withdrawal symptoms by supplying your body with proper sodium and chloride balance.

Some of us need more salt than others - my body thrives on salt - 71 years old and BP is 115/76

When I was a kid in the ‘50s, the connection between sodium and blood pressure was “a thing”.

Lowering your weight is far more effective. Overweight -ness and high BP are married.
