Credit: Reduxx Denbighshire, Wales – A female pool player took a bold stand for integrity and fair play after electing to forfeit her final against a biological male opponent. In an arguably more surprising twist, the Welsh crowd expressed their approval in a place not exactly known for conservatism and political incorrectness.
As Fox News reported, Lynne Pinches was supposed to face off against Chris “Harriet” Haynes in the final of the Women’s Champion of Champions in Denbighshire, Wales on Sunday. But she decided to walk away before the first ball had been struck instead.
Video captured from Reduxx Magazine shows Pinches going to the table where both players take lag shots to determine who would break in the first frame right before Haynes goes to sit down.
Then things take a turn. Pinches goes to the referee to inform them of her decision to quit the match rather than face her male opponent.
Pinches then walks back to her seating and packs up her belongings before exiting the arena to applause from the crowd and cheers of “yes, Lynne!.”
As the Daily Mail notes, Haynes appeared shocked by Pinches’ stand and the crowd’s reaction.
Pinches’ brother Barry went on social media to praise his sister’s audacious stance and voiced his warranted view that it was unfair for her to have to face off against a man.
Full credit and great respect to my sister Lynne Pinches yesterday for taking a stand and not playing in the biggest match of her pool playing life because she feels it’s so unfair to have to compete against a trans woman.
I completely agree with her view that it is totally unfair to expect women to compete against trans women in pool or any other sport for that matter.
Pinches’ son Tommy revealed his mom was in tears after forfeiting but was proud of her decision to put professional integrity ahead of potential glory.
Had my mum in tears a couple of weeks ago because of Ultimate Pool going back on what they said they was going to do at the end of the year with this current situation.
I know how much getting to this final means and to just concede and forfeit the title trophy prize money would not have been easy for her to do!
Stood up for what you believe in and your semi-final was your final in my honest opinion so well done on a fantastic weekend.
Despite forfeiting the final, Pinches did stay on site to pose with her runner-up trophy.

If the female athletes across the globe are willing to take the same bold stand as Pinches, woke sports leagues will have to stop placing men in female events unless they desire to go broke instead. But maybe that is exactly what they deserve.
It really is up to the women. It shouldn’t be and it’s asking them to give up a lot but it is the only way now.
Pool? The author refers to a geriatric pool player as an athlete?
How is a female disadvantaged in pool or darts?
I seriously don’t get it.
One might question why men and women are even segregated at all in a competitive event as cerebral as POOL.
They could have male, female, and open categories. God bless Lynne.
Fruitcake stands there smirking, like he actually won something.
Doesn’t matter. There are womens leagues and mens leagues. Stay in your lane.
This woman was disadvantaged by her opponent’s height and reach, and body strength.
The revolution has to start someplace why not there? I applaud it.
Now if some of ladies here would do the same.
Too bad there are so few women like her.
More often than not women are their own worst enemy. They are too easily manipulated by emotions.
For one thing, compare the photos. That thing is 7 or 8 inches taller than the woman. Better reach out onto and across the table.
For all practical purposes, the male category IS the open category.
larger hands mean better angles above the balls on the table... taller or longer legs means better stretching and placement...
men are better at math and angles...
real breasts can get in the way.
just a few examples of the advantages men have over women pool players... also they can hit harder and hold their liquor better.
I get it. Olympic swimming tried the same dodge: Male, Female, Transgender. There were no takers for Transgender.
For Chris “Harriet” Haynes to win by forfeit must be like kissing his brother.
Some might wonder why there is men's billiards and women's billiards. Well men typically do have advantages in this game over women. For starters, they tend to have more powerful breaks, which gives them a better position right from the first shot. Men tend to be a taller, giving them superior reach across the table (judging from the picture of this man that the woman refused to play, he seems pretty tall).
I'm sure there are other advantages.
Point is, while there is nothing wrong with friends playing together of both genders - and I've been beaten by women often at pool - when it comes to competition, it should definitely be men only or ladies only.
In the words of the famous and heroic spy Austin Powers:”She’s a MAN BABY!”
It really is a shame that all of the females who faced this fake woman in the preliminaries hadn’t done the same ...
To me, the point is this male isn’t a woman, so shouldn’t be in a women’s competition, whether or not there’s a competitive advantage. It’s just not right. You can’t change your DNA. We have to stop coddling and enabling these mentally ill people.
