There you have it. The government education system in this country is a massive, multi-decade failure. There are good reasons homeschooling continues to increase by leaps and bounds. Something big needs to change.

NYC teachers (no experience..fresh out of school) start about $70,000 a year and the top of the pay scale for a teacher with masters degree with 20+ years experience in a place like southern Indiana is about $75,000 a year.
Most rural school students in Indiana are quite well educated especially compared to where these dolts were interviewed yet the salary of the teachers in NYC (assuming that’s where this is) is about 75% better for massively worse results.
Which shows other factors than pay are more important to learning. Examples are the presence of mom and dad in the home, teacher quality, emphasis the administration places on what…and another factor about the students I won’t mention here least I be labeled bad things.
