I rather like Echidnas, especially the cheese ones with red sauce. Good with frijoles en aroz.

They are related to hedgehogs and are a mammal that lays eggs.

When they say "Indonesia" do they mean the Indonesian-occupied half of New Guinea? I thought monotremes were found only in Australia, but New Guinea also is east of the "Wallace Line" and has a lot of marsupials so it could have monotremes too.

In the rest of the world, the only non-placental mammals are the opossums, I think.
