These Kmart stores in Australia probably had zero idea that this hilarious "Merry Ham-Mas" bag β an unfortunately punny bag meant for storing ham in the fridge β would get them in trouble. But one look at the bag and you'll shortly realize why they're pulling it from the shelves.
"Yes, Merry Hamas from all of us at Kmart. Don't forget to search our kids' section for ammunition. We got some great deals back there. If you're looking for firearms themselves you'll have to head to the pharmacy and they'll help you out."
Totally kidding you guys, I needed to vent a little bit, so thanks for bearing with me. This bag was obviously a bad look, and Kmart is sorry, but there's really nothing they could've done in this situation besides put the bag on display and receive an inevitable complaint from someone who was able to make the connection. In this case, it was the Australian Jewish Association.
So Kmart responded:
"We got it wrong on this occasion, and we apologize unreservedly," a company rep told Politico Thursday.
"When designing this product we clearly didn't think through all the implications and the product has been removed from sale," the spokesperson added.
Truly an honest mistake here, but I'm kinda glad it happened because I needed a break from all the seriousness surrounding this issue.
If you need me I'll be in my office thinking up a few good jokes concerning Hamas and the consumption of ham. I might be a while, so don't wait up.
Iβm not ok with either

K-Mart? I remember those being around years ago.
Australia........................
ham-ass
they misspelled it
Surprised that an Aussie Jewish association beat the moslem groups to the punch. That HAM reference could be very offensive to Islamic sensibilities, with their halal thing and stuffππ€
I’m sure when they were designing the ad campaign ages ago, Hamas wasn’t so prominent on our radar, but leave it to the legalistic to twist it’s intent. Lighten up, Francis. When you live by God’s promises, ya just gotta laugh.
There are apparently two left in the U.S. But Kmart doesn’t just list the two. They have a “store locator” that you have to put in a zip code and it tells you what is within 100 miles.
Hint: They are in Bridgehampton NY and Miami Fl. So you have to put in every zip code in the U.S. to find one, unless you get lucky. Or Google “last remaining Kmarts in the U.S.” and THEN put in those zip codes. Ah, customer service!
“Mo-Ham-Head” LOL!!!
We lost K-Mart, Sears, Pennys, McRaes, Dillards all in the same short time span................
McRaes & Dillards are upscale department stores.
Rumors are our Kohl’s is next.
What was one the biggest and busiest shopping mall within 50 miles is now about to close and be torn down.................
Someone else may take offense that isn’t mooselim.
“I look fat in dis?”
LOL. Hello, Denny’s...!
I can only be concerned about the general adulteration of our language with my grammar police tendencies.
Moral of the story- how do you judge? I’m pretty sure it doesn’t shock God, but that doesn’t mean He has to allow it in His Kingdom, and likewise an individual. Collectively ignoring and walking away is very powerful. If none sold, they might figure it out without the drama. To the pure in heart, all things are pure, so perhaps a delightful joke to them.
there are still Kmarts open?? who knew.
Down Under in Aussie land..................
I thought K-Mart went out of business years ago.
Just the ones here. This is in Australia.................
Just call it “Holiday” like they do here.
There is a J.C. Penney in Pensacola.
I’ve been there, but not in a couple of years.
Still open?...........
